I like to know more about the 3DES and AES digital information/data encryption algorithm. Which is more efficient on generic computer processors [everyday PCs] and which is more secure?
Even though there are very efficient ASIC (Application Specific Int. Circuits) out there that handle these tasks very efficiently, I like to know more about the computer processor scenario. I am faced with the challenge of choosing between one of these two in a VPN set up i am working on. I have checked online to compare the two standards but decided to share the question with 'Nairalanders' in a bid to get ideas from people who are knowledgeable or with real life experience of these encryption standards
