. When u see ur baby trying to breath and struggling because of blocked nostrils, believe me no one will beg u to suck it, u will want to do anything including sucking to relieve the baby it's a natural parental thing which I fully understand.

doctors say its not hygienic buh i do it to my baby especcially wen she has a cold....n d mucuor in her nose is thick or even wen its runny....once i suck it out it clears up....motherhood for u.

chinziaski: . Yeah! The westerners have done all sorts of things to make it easier. When your baby is finding it difficult to breathe, you will leave ur baby to look for the suction gadget? These things are done instinctively. You can't be carrying so many baggages with u everytime dear. NB: we know about all these things you mentioned above but we prefer our africa method. Faster and easier!

I humble myself where my families well-being is concerned 0. And it works for the "team" thingy; wifey does not do dirty or heavy lifting. And yes, at first I was subject to local/bushy-bushy type remarks.

Although funnily enough, she too jumped on this bandwagon small-small. Not willing to cede her position as primary carer - by me doing something for him that she doesn't - she followed suit. But it's a half-hearted almost noiseless effort. And she's always quick to call me or say to him "let daddy suck your nose" if I'm around !

This is something I did 4 my kids when they were 2 small do blow their noses themselves. My wife thinks its a really dirty thing 2 do but who cares. Honestly as a father, I see nothing wrong with it.
