Army Nurse Horoho with that kind of credential clearly stands and was appointed on her own merit rather than threats and subterfuge over the Surgeon General, a medical doctor. Dr. Odierno clearly recommended and endorsed that meritorious professional. From her humble and service - oriented acceptance reply in which she highlighted the immediate challenges and scope of her new office, you see immediately that she is the 'right man' for the job. And come to think of, she is first after almost 300 years of American Army existence. Put the state of our Health system beside that of America, and Nurse Horoho's intimidating image beside her Nigerian Johesu counterparts. Gosh! What do you see?

same way we don't need consultant nurses/pharmacists/lab techs. There are so many more responsibilities that have not yet being fulfilled by these respective health workers. After all nthat is done, then we can ask for more.

There is so much more we need in the health sector.

Unfortunately, most of the requests by these organizations are mostly in competition with Docs.

And Docs are trying to guarantee their positions by some of these requests.

Until the real problems are addressed, we will only continue to go round in circles!!!

Experienced health care leader to focus on quality care for
Albertans; further strengthening of health care delivery
EDMONTON–Alberta Health Services today announced the
appointment of a new President and Chief Executive Officer,
Vickie Kaminski.

Ms. Kaminski is a Registered Nurse with executive level
experience in the Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador
health care systems. Most recently, Ms. Kaminski held the
position of President and Chief Executive Officer at the
Eastern Regional Health Authority in Newfoundland and
Labrador, the province’s largest health authority.

She officially takes on the role of AHS CEO on June 2. She
will spend time in Alberta prior to her official start date
meeting with stakeholders and transitioning into the role.
“This appointment is the result of an extensive search that
resulted in a number of excellent candidates,” said Dr. John
Cowell, AHS’ Official Administrator. “Ms. Kaminski
demonstrates a vision for health care that is aligned with
our commitment to providing Albertans with high quality
care. We are pleased to find an excellent Canadian leader.
We are looking forward to her arrival and for her, in
collaboration with the others on the leadership team, to
continue to build a health system that is second to none.”

College of Health Services Executives, is a surveyor with
