For dealers and end users that buy vehicles via online auction without physical inspection, VIN check is a must.

Most vehicles on copart and IAA tagged ''Minor dents/scratch'' have previous damage history.
American dealers buy damaged vehicles from auction, get them fixed and relist after few weeks at same auction or dealership.

Here are some pictures

This is not a new ish
And to an extent, you can always trust the quality of their jobs.

Another trick is that if the car is not from Insurance company, please get away from it FAST!!!
Individual sellers are the most dubious

When I see the prices on vehicles on NL I just laugh and wish the buyer good luck. Some of the cars are not even fit to drive my Dogs in.

These repaired cars, some of them can not be sold in California and thus are destined for countries like Nigeria where there is no safety board and anything goes.

If not for the fact that we have sullied our national reputation, Nigerians who want to buy vehicle should be able to get a 2 week visa and come over to the USA to buy and load their car onto the ship. I have friends who come from Germany and Australia to do this.

At least these pictures shows accident cars that can be relatively fixed (never fixed to the same level as new). The ones that scares me are the water logged ones from Katrina and such.

Many toks cars in Nigeria are accidented. This doesnt make d cars bad or unsafe (depending on d level of damage), but a way to reduce cost of selling since purchase n fixing costs are reduced, afterall, many Nigerians (even europeans n americans) fix their accidented cars n not dispose them immediately if they cannot afford outright replacement.
The pix here are recent cars owned most likely by those who can afford another one (insurance surely will pay them).
All over d world, d rich dispose their accidented cars..... If u aint buying a new car n not ready to pay good money, a similar n cheap one is accidented.
