it's really sad considering the side effect of bleaching agent, but Who is to be blamed? if course it's guys, I mean a typical naija guy will always go for fair babes.

So many hypocritical black men are quick to judge black women for wanting to appeal to the white standard of beauty, but when these men are searching for partners, they tend to go for the fair ones, if they have the opportunity. Numerous songs have been made that extolled the beauty of fair women. Even when we have e-fights with other countries like Ghana and Kenya, Nigerians always make it an invariable point to make fun of the predominant dark skins of our brothers and sisters in these countries. Until we start cherishing and loving our women, nothing will change. You can say, "Black Is Beautiful" all you want, but if your actions speak otherwise, then you are a hypocrite.

Black people are the subjects of social programming and they don't know it. The media attaches racial consciousness into everything Black people do. Why is that?

Why is it that this stigma of "self-hatred" does not follow white people who tan and get implants, dye their hair blonde when natural blondes are a minority in the white population?

Why doesn't this stigma follow Asians who get eyelid surgery, whose ladies marry white men in record numbers?

Why doesn't this stigma follow Indians who practice skin color casting and bleach their skin?

Why doesn't this stigma follow Jews who get nose jobs and straighten their hair?

Why are only black people labelled self-hating? Is there an end-game to this media bombardment? I think that they want to attach this stigma to us to give others reason to label us as ugly and discriminate against us.

Beauty is in the eyes of d beholder....personally,I think inferiority complex ,low self esteem and misleading advertising terms on our beauty products should be blamed for the high rate of bleaching...(I'm black N beautiful N proud to be ME!!!!)
