I thought this guy was going to change Nigeria fir good when he took over. But everything seems to have gone down hill for the worse since he became the IG. It is as if Nigerian police is not capable of any intelligence and with no ability whatsoever to secure the country.

So wait, this Inspector General of Police is completely clueless as to his job title and basic description.
No wait,

Why doesn't take a pose and stride as he is chasing down a suspect in alley way while the Shaft theme is playing in the background ..?

As a boss, sometimes its cool to do the dirty job.

I know haters will always see evil in good intention, misinterpreting the action as usual. grin

Scyllapatron: publicity stunt! it doesn't dismiss the fact that the Nigerian police force is the most corrupt institution in the country.
I swear if the cameras are not there, this man will be collecting money from bus and keke drivers.
no matter the salary of a nigerian policeman, the N20 & N50 roger dey sweet dem like ice-cream cheesy

Don't b surprised that if u manage to end up in that very organization u jus might b worse, that u might want to pass up for N10 or N5 somtime.

For some reasons i can't explain. I am impressed by the boss hands-on engagement in the menial duty of policing.
Sure the act will motivate people assigned the duty to be proud of their job. Also provide chances for informal
interaction with citizens who otherwise can't reach him due to protocols. Wish other top brass will emulate his example.

If Obama takes a walk now, all these people shouting publicity stunt will be the same ones drooling all over the place at how humble Obama is.

It dosnt work all the time...Dont b too quick to dish out insults when someone is rily trying to make a difference. I pass that area alot & as at yesterday, it wasnt functional. undecided
if he want to lead by example, let him carry RPG or AA, or even AK47 and head to chibok or sambisa. this eye service will not earn him extension of service. if he wants to be life IG, let him go to maiduguri or yobe state period.
Re: Inspector General Of Police Controlling Traffic In Abuja (Pictures) by ephemm(m): 6:48am On Jul 22, 2014
I agree this is a cheap publicity stunt!
While he is doing that, how many junior officers are around him watching him? He should rather assign someone there and get on with his supervisory role.

I won't leave my office to go open gate for cars to come into the office premises, that's the gate-man's job, it's the HR's responsibility to ensure the gate-man is at his duty post and it's my responsibility to ensure the HR does his job well...

IG "face your work o", controlling traffic no be your work.

cbrass: Stupidity at its highest order, laddened with utmost cluelessness, I can see a traffic light behind him, what's that for Who knows maybe its moribund and not one willing to fix it

Rubbish vomit!!!
Very soon you will accuse him of not repairing the traffic light.

When there is no one to control on that route, we shout, where are the traffic wardens,
Now he came himself, and all you see is rubbish.

You reek. And you have my pity.
Gosh! am so angry with you.

psychologist: Sambisa forest needs you more

Btwn if all npf men can dress and look good like this.... undecided

What is the work of the military.
Let the chief of army take his rifle and take shots like this in Sambisa forest.
Am sure gonna be impressed too

Na wa ooo. why are we Nigerians so bitter n resentful in our comments. I just don't get it. Somebody is trying to lead by example n u guys are lashing out at him Instead of following suite. Common guys u don't have to comment if u don't have any constructive or meaningful thing to say. It really doesn't matter if it was a cheap publicity stunt or not more importantly traffic flowed at that point. d fact remains dat in other to lead u must serve, at least HE knows that. I wish some of our highly placed leaders can follow this example. (Even christ did it here on earth).
Re: Inspector General Of Police Controlling Traffic In Abuja (Pictures) by laprince(m): 1:34pm On Jul 22, 2014
preselect: even if it is for publicity stunt, i still give him kudos. i hope governors will build roads for publicity stunts, build hospitals, schools, etc for publicity stunts, provide electricity and water for 2015 publicity stunt things.

a city where boko haram has attacked, most people in his shoes will be scared of coming out openly like this. yes, this is not enough to develop nigeria, but only people like me who appreciate how bad nigeria is can be able to appreciate whatever little that brings nigeria towards the right direction.
bc right now, nigeria is a battered mess

Lovely!!!
na this one I dey call SENSEFUL DEY YOUR HEAD

Its eye service to u....but relief from a road-block to all those who took that route dat day. Regardless of his actual motive, d effect of his action dat day was well appreciated. Datz my point. His actions eliminated the cluster dat wulda been.

its eye service, all traffic warden personnels are there doing nothing. all his aides and escorts are there, Abuja the force headquarters is filled up with police personnel and traffic personel. where is the DTO of that division? wht is ACs, CPs, SPs, CSPs and so on that are redondant in force headquaters? its the eye service in the order. if u are a police officer u will understand why i said its eye service.

If things were as it shuld be, he wont av bothered. I dont need to be a police officer to understand anything. Im speaking for the moment. I rily couldnt care less if he was d one who cleared the traffic-jam there or if it was a madman. The koko here is dat someone stood up and had that area organized.

Oga or bomboy....i dont care....I c him as an individual.....someone who cleared the jam.

This man's time in the police expired in June, what is he still doing in police uniform? He is certainly not among the IGs who could be rated as above average.

Hey niqqa, what makes you spit bullshit when I never said that those cars on the background are the finest cars? I simply said, ' Abuja, city of the finest cars'. So what makes you become so baseless by judging with the pics on the screen. FYI, I've travelled far & wide, & I stand to say that Abuja is the City of the finest cars in Nigeria.
