1. Prices varies depending on your financial capacity, check out the HOMS website for what you can afford.

2. Don't bother with the dumb ignorant and silly rubbish some are spewing in this thread, the process is open and transparent.

3. Put your papers and financial matters in order and get your self qualified

4. Every bit of info you need including help, tutorial and application forms are available.

5. Again, the process is open and transparent in an open lottery system and selection so no room for magomago and the governor himself is present to make sure everything remains above the board.

6. They don't discriminate and your religion and tribe makes no difference. The lists of the winners are are available on the website and it's a clear representation of Nigerian Hausa, ibo Yoruba or whatever.

Put in your application and prove to them that you can afford the mortgage and monthly payments.

Goodluck..

Wow thanks alot this really helped I also checked their website to and same almost the same things you said are there, I will talk to my mum right away so she can get ready , but pls I have a last question in the faq on their website, there was no provision for self employed people cause they kept asking of things related to people that are employed in org

Thanks once again

And pls is there any house around the apapa or mile2 area

Just so we are all sure of what we are talking about:

How much is the salary of a Level 08 Officer in the lagos state civil service
For university graduates, the entry point is between N54,000 - N58,000 per month.

GL08 – S1 will receive N648,656 and on attaining S15 will receive N696,000.Per Annum.

So, how can the above GL be able to afford a Room and Palour from the Lagos state scheme embarassed

The danger of a limited analysis borne out of either ignorance or reasoning deficit from you both is that you present a miniscule part of the big picture, then go to town with jaundiced implication. Can you give us in the forum the demographics of the workforce in Lagos, the stats of Government to Private workers, the number of the over 20m population working for the civil service? Sticking your argument to level is simply not addressing the big picture.

Let me engage you a little along the line through which you seek to argue

1. Is the population of Lagos workforce consist of only level 8 civil servants alone? Please tell me the ratio of Level 8 workforce in all the Lagos State Civil service to the ratio Level 8 in other industries and sectors combined (Banks, FMCGs, Insurance coys, Manufacturing, Private Education and many more). Are you tell me they are not Lagosians and do not deserve access to the housing scheme?
2. Even when talking about level 8, do you expect a level 8 fresh graudate to afford any of these houses from the get-to-go? where is that obtainable anywhere in the world even with running housing schemes? I expect a Level 8 Officer in the Civil service to first commit to a savings for a period of a minimum of 3years. I expect that he'll have access to bonuses at work, loans, housing grants etc which he can add to his savings. I expect that by the 5th year he'll been in Level 9-10 pay grade and his savings capacity will improve. I expect that he starts the scheme and 10years later he'll be in Level 13-14, by then he can sell off his house and buy a bigger one
3. I have laid submissions here in the past that except we want to stay on a one-sided limited views, there are many ways even the market or street based couples can afford the 4.3m housing scheme. I made assumption that such would have been in business for a period of 5years and made committed savings as such will be able to afford 1million naira or more. I dare tell you that the average market man or woman in a typical Lagos Market can compare favourably with working class in terms of take home net (I assume how each decides to spend it depends on the individual).

Just a simple response to you-

- Go and find out the profile of the original buyers of the bungalows & houses built by the LASG in Surulere in the 60s and 70s.

In doing so you may find out the wage DISPARITY between civil servants & PUBLIC servants back then and why our people did not have to go into socio-economic EXILE and be second class citizens in oyinbo lands as we clamour for now.

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State yesterday announced plan by his administration to introduce ‘Rent to Own Scheme,’ in the Lagos Home Ownership Mortgage Scheme, LagosHoms.

Fashola said the initiative was to encourage residents in the informal sector participate in the housing scheme.
With the new proposal, the 30 per cent equity contribution would be waved for the intending applicants who might not be able to afford the initial first payment of the housing scheme which ranges from N3 million to N32 million, depending on the type, size and location.
Investigation shows that the 30 per cent equity contribution had also contributed to why most applicants, especially those in the informal sector, consider the housing scheme unaffordable, hence, the reason for the new proposal.

Speaking at a special interactive session with artisans in the state, which included the transport operators, bricklayers, brick-makers, fashion-designers and others, Fashola said the traders and artisans could conveniently pay for the homes located across the state.

According to the governor, investigations carried out by his team recently showed that most people in the informal sector could also afford the mortgage scheme, going by their monthly income and profit, adding that the ‘Rent to Own’ initiative would further make the scheme affordable for all and sundry.

Urging artisans to apply for their choice homes in the scheme, Fashola said the government would, through the Lagos Mortgage Board, ensure that artisans benefit from the scheme.
He added that the board would allocate blocks of flats to them in accordance with their monthly income and profit to enable them to take part in the scheme.
Fashola reiterated that scheme was meant for the low-income earners who have no landed properties in the state, saying the meeting was meant to educate those in the informal sector that they could also conveniently take part in the mortgage scheme, even than those in the formal sector.

On his part, the state Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede, confirmed that average commercial drivers make between N45,000 and N70,000 monthly, commending the state government on the new proposal, which he said, would also make the housing scheme affordable to his members.

The Commissioner for Housing, Bosun Jeje, said the meeting was organised to encourage artisans to partake in the LagosHoms, saying criteria would be worked out on the modality of applying for the ‘Rent to Own’ proposal

http://newtelegraphonline.com/fashola-extends-lagoshoms-to-artisans-others/

The state government have provisions for self employed and low income people who can not afford the 30% equity down payment.

Again, don't pay attention to the trolls and bigots running around this thread with their usual ignorance and stupidity.

They do have homes in Apapa area, but It was commissioned a while ago so I'm not sure if they are still available. You might want to go to the website for comprehensive info and how to proceed...

Low income earners can afford the houses since they have special program for them that gets rid of the down payments and the state civil service workers have have their own special loan and mortgage fund to help them out.

These characters are just trolls, pollutants, nuisance, pests and ignorant dullards, they don't know what they are talking about.

Supporting GOODLUCK doesn't make me dumb.

I just dislike a party which is promoted on propaganda and tribalism championed with illiteracy. I might not be too successful but i scare my peers. GOODLUCK brought politics of the literate to Nigeria. This is what I like most about his government. All the illiterates from the North and Southwest who ruled Nigeria in the past were either Clowns, Dictators or Bloodsuckers.

Inspite of the janajaweed tactics to deceive the masses and cause political instability via dogs and baboons, we can still say that...

God sent GOODLUCK to wipe our tears.

Where are FG estates? At least Shagari and Jakande used to compete in this area back then? Shari bungalow was N8k while Jakande 3BR flat was N6k. As a teenage clerk in a Federal ministry I was aspiring to a bungalow then. Virtually every LASG teacher got a flat then with payments deducted over many years from their salary. There was indeed a country.

......and the problems back then are still the situation today? Or the population back then are still the same today? Is the cost in real and nominal terms still same?

What will the sentiment of your wage disparities solve in the behemoth of housing gaps. Even if all the level 8 officers in Lagos are given house free of charge, how many have benefited in the larger scheme of things.

I still maintain that you are so jumpy to layout flawed assumptions with little provision for deep reasoning.

We all know Fashola runs an elitist govt. Afterall he once said he could find low cost cement.

since u can't answer a simple question then my guess is the benefiaries are his elite friends.

Only the elites drive on the roads he built, only the elite kids attend the schools he built, only the elites gets treated at the hospitals he built, only the elites gets educated at the more than 17 skilled centers he built, only elite women deliver babies or get prenatal care at his women clinics and centers, only elites ride his buses, the metro rail is going to be strictly for elites? Is this the highest functioning capacity of your meager brain?

Btw, what are elites doing buying houses and living gbagada, agege, Ipaja, and other places where low income people live? I thought your elites live in VI, Lekki, Banana Island and VI?

I know you are brainless and grossly ignorant, but you really don't have to let it show every time you post your brainless and ignorant rubbish.
