Just wondering, if you wanted to start a tech start-up ie an 'Internet Company', which Nigerian city do you think is d best or among d best cities in Nigeria that has good tech ecosystem. criterias are: 1. Where you will find good developers 2. Where you will easily get funding 3. Where you will meet experienced tech entrepreneurs for mentorship n advices, etc. |

Yea Lagos obviously, but I'm asking apart from Lagos, which other city is 'good'. |

digitalafrica: What about: most likely- abuja or abeokuta. They all hav their cons. Abeokuta - close to lagos. Labour can b sourced from lagos. Warri: ---------- futo will provide some labour pool. Its populated by some really smart guyz/gals. - aprt from tht nothg much going for it,it seems. Abuja- too pricey in evrythg. Too nothern in flava. Lagos is most metropolitan of all. A meltg pot. Not enuff enterprenueroal vibe besides hotel bzness. Less boisterous thn lagos (and cleaner too). Port harcourt: too pricey . Oil state. Higher likelyhood of meetg devs but most wrkg devs will b connected with lagos/abuja axis. Maidugri ------------- ruled out completely. Labour, climate, tribal tensiveness, threat to life WAY TOO HIGH. YOU'D B INSANE TO SITUATE A COMPANY ANY HIGHER THN ABUJA for politcl reasons. (mayb kaduna at most). Ibadan: ----------- university Town. Thts all it has going for it. Like most states, it runs on governmnt pap which aint enuff fe evry1. Commercially too cold. Onitsha -------------- Good n nice if your sellg merchandises. Motor spare parts! Its d place. Tech wise? Forget it. Bascally, the labour market here would b grossly insuffcient to support a tech company. 1 Like |
