The Nigerian Army has debunked the claims by
the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria,
otherwise known as Shiite, Sheikh Ibraheem El-
Zazzaky, that some members of his Sect,
including his three sons who died during the
exchange of gunfire with soldiers last Friday
were killed extra-judicially.
This clarification was made Sunday by the
Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Brig-
Gen. Olajide Laleye who in a text message
denied the claims that members of the El-
Zarkzaky group were taken away alive to some
locations where they were later executed.
“Its wrong, its false, its not true. On the
contrary, they are the ones that arrested two of
my soldiers, took them to their Camp and
brutalized and later set them free.
“All those things being reflected in the media is
not true. The deaths recorded was the one that
occurred during the exchange of fire in self
defence”.

Am on the army's side on this one. Too many times have we heard of such protests and we know who suffers at the end...chritians/igbos. Like the cartoon incident bak in 2003 or so(yes, a protest broke out in nigeria ova a cartoon drawn in Denmark and they ended up killing igbos...still don't know how dey managed to blame the igbos, but they did) we haven't forgotten, cos ma friend was killed then
