When Last Did You Visit Your Hometown by barackodam: 2:01pm On Jul 28, 2014
I and a friend where chatting on bbm, I then asked her about her hometown, it turned out to be that she. Only knew about her Hometown's name and nothing else.

She hasn't been there before, not even once.

Then I began to wonder, what on earth would not make a human being(at least in Africa) waNt to know About his/her hometown. Some don't even know the name of their town.

It can be so bad you know, When your children ask "where is our hometown," and you end up saying, "Lagos," because yourself never went there. Its those type of people that end up claiming "Lagosians" when they really ain't.

When last did you visit your hometown??.??.??.??

Two days ago . However, no big deal if you don't visit a place where you don't have emotional attachment to. Everywhere we find peace should be our home. I was born in Enugu but I live and pay tax in Lagos. So I regard Lagos as a home also.

2006,Went for the burial of my maternal grandfather, since then, mum has been shielding us from going, cos my dad lives there, and he's a polygamist. You know the African mentality stuff-dont go there, they can harm you, don't eat there, they will poison you.etc. Have lost interest going there sef, don't like mumsy look, whenever we raise the issue

You didn't have to sample your ignorance here...Now hear this and hear it well; Igbos always, always visit their hometown even if its only for Xmas and such, but we always identify with our roots. The dryness of "another man's land" during the festive periods can attest to this fact so stop being ignorantly tribalistic..If you must be then get your story straight.
