I wish we could go back to the glory days when we used to excel in table tennis; Atanda and co. there are fewer tennis boards on the streets on Naija these days. could that be the reason?

CFCfan: The sports Nigeria could participate in at Rio 2016 can be:
Athletics, football, rugby 7s, hockey, basketball, volleyball, beach volleyball, handball, boxing, weightlifting, wrestling, shooting, archery and swimming.

The Delta govt have already built 2 Olympic sized swimming pools, with a third nearing completion. With some 3 yrs of world class training, Nigerian swimmers should in Rio

I have always wondered why we don't excel in swimming with all the warri bayelsa and rivers people we have

I was wondering too. Those 'sports' look inexpensive to set up. The NSC can maintain even a part time pool of netball players. Ditto for badminton and rugby sevens.
Did you know that Nigeria rugby 7s team are 6th in Africa and the no 3 commonwealth team in Africa? they qualified for the Glasgow commonwealth games but where pulled out by the NOC. i'm sure they will qualify for the Olympics

That's pure wickedness from the NOC! Even if the team didn't win a medal, the exposure from the CWG would have been invaluable
