anitank: But the Liberian man said he didn't come in contact with an Ebola patient nor go to the funeral of one, he's not even a health worker.

Even the doctors who handled Ebola patients dressed like they were going to the moon, yet got infected and died. I sincerely pray and hope that man hadn't transmitted it to someone else in lagos. That would be the only form of prevention for outbreak in Nigeria
at emboldened, The Liberian was in contact with his Sister who died of ebola. He also attended her funeral.

These people don come again with another money making venture! They invent these diseases( viruses)especially for the African continent, then turn around to find a cure or repressant...which youl get ONLY through them, and then the money starts tumbling in. All these Western Countries, smh

OPEN LETTER TO MR EBOLA!
Dear Ebola, please we are still trying to
survive:
1. Cancer
2. Strikes
3. Corrupt politicians
4. HIV
5. Bokoharams
6. Religious issues
7. PHCN
8. Unemployments
9. 419 Aka Yahoo Yahoo
10. Fulani herdsmen.
As you can see, we already have enough
Ebola problems, that has had no cure, since
independence. So adding yourself after
number 10, it will be as late Fela said, double
Wahala for dead body.
Thanks for your corporation.

Why Lagos, Nigeria? The most populated state in the most populated black african country?! I still can't understand why the said Doctor came to Nigeria. Some folks really looking to reduce our population at all cost.

First was SARS(Severe Acute Respiratory
Syndrome; SARS). Many were reported
dead, We are still here...
Then came bird flu, many people and animals
were reported dead. We still dey kamkpe...
Then they came out wit lassa fever, Many
were said to have died. We are still here
praising
God and grooving...
Then came AIDS (Acquired Immune
Deficiency Syndrome), Many People were
Reported dead from many countries. Many
are suffering 4rm it...
Yet you are free from it...
Now they called this one EBOLA virus
Disease (EVD). They advised Us to wash our
hands or take our bath each time We shake
or hug someone...!
(can u imagine)?
But the truth is that we are UNTOUCHABLE!
He has assured us that no evil shall befall on
us nor any PLAGUE come near our Dwelling.
Therefore, I decree and declare that no
One genuinely connected to us will be
''EBOLARIZE'' In JESUS name...!
If you believe, JUST LIKE IT

viuche: In order to help our Embassy Community better understand some of the key points about the Ebola virus we have consulted with our medical specialists at the U S State Department and assembled this list of bullet points worded in plain language for easy comprehension. Our medical specialists remind everyone that they should be following the guideline from the center for Disease Control and the World Health Organisation.

• The suspected reservoirs for Ebola are fruit bats.

• Transmission to humans is thought to originate from infected bats or primates that have become infected by bats.

• Undercooked infected bat and primate (bush) meat transmits the virus to humans.

• Human to human transmission is only achieved by physical contact with a person who is acutely and gravely ill from the Ebola virus or their body fluids.

• Transmission among humans is almost exclusively among caregiver family members or health care workers tending to the very ill.

• The virus is easily killed by contact with soap, bleach, sunlight, or drying. A washing machine will kill the virus in clothing saturated with infected body fluids.

• A person can incubate the virus without symptoms for 2-21 days, the average being 5-8 days before becoming ill. THEY ARE NOT CONTAGIOUS until they are acutely ill.

• Only when ill does the viral load express itself first in the blood and then in other bodily fluids (to include vomit, feces, urine, breast milk, semen and sweat).

• If you are walking around you are not infectious to others.

• There are documented cases from Kikwit, DRC of an Ebola outbreak in a village that had the custom of children never touching an ill adult. Children living for days in small one room huts with parents who died from Ebola did not become infected.

• You cannot contract Ebola by handling money, buying local bread or swimming in a pool.

• There is no medical reason to stop flights, close borders, restrict travel or close embassies, businesses or schools.

• As always practice good hand washing techniques, but you will not contract Ebola if you do not touch a dying person.

• US EMBASSY

koonbey:

I don't understand this;closing Airports in my Opinion,is a very necessary Measure.

No vex Brother,go stand for Airport dey welcome every Visitor from Liberia,Sierra Leone & co.

This is a Disease that has no Cure, and that kills almost everyone who catches it...it's beyond a Matter of my Country or not my Country; if it's allowed to spread beyond its present Confines,it will progressively become more difficult to contain and threaten the whole World.

u also cant think of any solution.
if they do welcome every visitor as u stated, then why cant I if proper measure is taken.

so u think stopping flights from these places will actually stop the spread.

maybe when other countries close theirs also.....then we can talk about how safe to close ours.

a carrier from liberia entered uk and entered nigeria from there.....sebi una don close gate against liberia.
