A police Inspector, identified as
Sunday Mefo, attached to the Patrol
and Guard (P&G) Unit of the Aba
Central Police Station (CPS) in Abia
State command, on Tuesday
accidentally shot himself dead.
According to a police source who
pleaded anonymity, unfortunate
incident occurred at about 10p.m as
Mefo tried to check the working
condition of an AK 47 rifle, which he
was to use for night duty.
The source said the deceased had
allegedly pulled the trigger of the gun
and in the process, one of the bullets
in the cache accidentally went off and
hit him in the leg.
Mefo was reportedly rushed to a
nearby hospital for medical attention.
“But unfortunately, he gave up the
ghost in the early our of yesterday
morning, the source hinted.
The state Police Public Relations
Officer (PPRO), Geoffrey Ogbonna,
when contacted for reaction, said he
was yet to be formally informed about
the ugly incident, whi threw the entire
Abia central police station into
tension.

I guess he went to babalawo to take care of injury.
Next time find a doctor.

How can one believe this is not assassination? How can a trained police officer who wants to check a gun point the nozzle to his own feet and then pull the trigger all in the name of testing? And again the man died of gun shot wound on his leg and not in the vital areas of his chest. This must be thoroughly investigated!

The trajectory of the wound would rule out/in a self-inflicted wound.

This guy sustained this limb injury in a town and reportedly died a day after.
If he did not seek medical aid from babalawos, how did he die?
If the injury is so bad, doctors would have amputated the leg and saved a life.
Or was he shot center-mass?

Again, I say, he went to babalawos for medical attention.

This reminds me of a govt official that died some days ago in Aba from gun-shot injury.
Why do aba people patronize babalawos like this?
