You are the freaking tribalist. If not for guilty conscience, I did not even specifically mentioned tribe- this is a case of self-conviction b4 the Jury's pronouncement.

The state house of assembly has no constitutional power to order the chief Judge to disband the investigative panel on whatever ground. They've done their part so far and they should allow the chief Judge to do his part. The assembly can't be the judge in their own case. The constitution vested the power to constitute the investigative panel in the chief Judge for the purpose of equity and fair hearing. If they are not comfortable with any member of the panel, they should approach a court of competent jurisdiction to argue their case. Asking the chief judge to disband the panel is illegal, unconstitutional, null and void.

I hope Al-makura is delivered from this mess.

it was too late for him to meet the president a day before the impeachment........he eventually made efforts and the president is helping out.

seanet02: Not possible. He cannot disband them. There is no provision in the constitution that empowers a chief judge to disband a panel on an impeachment notice once he has set it up and inaugurated it. Al-Makura has won this.

Ayo fayose was thinking like this in 2006,but he knows better now ,once the panel is indicted by the house to be partisan they could be sent packing by a resolution of the house of assembly.

Can you please show us the relevant section of the constitution that gives the house of assembly the power to disband the panel by a resolution?

Beside, what happened in Ekiti in 2006 was serious illegality perpetrated by Obasanjo just to get Fayose out. The impeachment couldn't stand and a state of emergency had to be declared. Hope you also know that the Ekiti chief Judge that was illegally removed then went to court and won the case? This is not 2006 and Nigerians are wiser and more knowledgeable now. Such illegality as done in 2006 can not happen again.

since they have d constitutional power to order him to constitute the panel, I think they can as well ask him to disband it. Isn't that reasonable?
