Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Kenneth Minimah, has said that officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army will soon be kitted with new sets of uniforms to differentiate them from impostors.

General Minimah, who made the disclosure at the end of his tour on army formations in the Lagos, said the new uniforms which are currently being sewn at the Nigerian Army Tailoring Department in Yaba, will make officers and soldiers appear smarter.

The Chief of Army Staff, who also cautioned officers and men of the Army on the use of the social media as a way of expressing their grievances, noted that such action can only destroy the Force.

He also admonished those using the internet to spread falsehood about the service, particularly the ongoing war against insurgents in parts of the country, urging them to desist.

“The Nigerian Army has decided to change the camouflage uniform of the service. We have also decided to make it ourselves so that it will have a uniform look. We will not allow anybody to make them for us.. They are currently being made at the Nigerian Army Tailoring Department at Yaba, Lagos State. It will make us look smarter and better,” he said.

Its long overdue, but I am sure that as I write this, the insurgents already called a meeting on how to neutralize the new strategy. Must they announce everything on the pages of newspapers?

And the impostors does not know where to buy that same uniform?

What more can i say, even the armies need fashion. So, can i now rock their formal uniform without the fear of being embarrased in public.
