President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has approved the following appointments and changes in the management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC): The Federal Government, Friday, announced the appointment of Dr. Joseph Thlama Dawha as Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC. The Federal Government, in a statement released in Abuja, also announced the appointment of Mr Anthony Ugonna Muoneke as the new Managing Director of the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company, NPDC. Dawha is to replace Mr. Andrew Yakubu, the erstwhile Group Managing Director of the NNPC, while Muoneke is to replace Mr. Victor Briggs, who is the erstwhile chief executive of the NPDC. The Federal Government also appointed Ms Aisha Mata Abdurrahman, Group Executive Director, Commercial and Investment, NNPC and Dr Attahir Yusuf, Group Executive Director, Business Development, NNPC. Dawha hails from Borno state. He served previously as the Group Executive Director, Exploration and Production, NNPC and Managing Director of Integrated Data Services Ltd (IDSL), a subsidiary of the NNPC. Muoneke hails from Anambra state. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985, with over 29 years’ experience at both local and international levels in the oil and gas as well as the energy and power sectors, including serving as Executive Director, Finance & Administration, Niger Delta Power Holding Company Ltd.
