I thought it will be very easy to get a job considering the nos of jobs posted online. I can remember rushing to get a new pair of black shoes and a white shirt late one night in march when i received a text that I should come for an interview the next day. Thank God for nl, I would have fallen for all those GNLD guys.

I was dumped by a coy in May at their final interview with their directors(that's after I have done their medicals). As smart as I thought I was I ve failed some aptitude tests. The ones I spent countless nights preparing for were the most disappointing of all.

Although am very good at teaching, I didn't take up a teaching job 'cos I don't want anything to tie me down or bar me from attending aptitude tests/interviews.

Right now I am so frustrated that yesterday which happens to be my birthday was spent indoors sleeping, I didn't even bother to bath.

I am used to success but life is teaching me right now how to fail and learn how to move forward.

I know my predicament would soon be over but I wish it comes sooner.

I want to thank everyone who has contributed to this thread. Seriously, i'm somewhat free from shackles of depression seeing some people's experience here and knowing that i'm not alone. Saw some people mentioning success after 3years! It simply means i'm not lost yet and my hope is boosted for real. This has really given hope to hopeless ones like me. I will really like to see more experiences. Thanks to all who have shared so far.

after passing out at the age of 22 on june 6th 2013 with a 2.1 i felt i had what it takes to get a job within a twinkle of an eye.After several aptitude tests in both banks,companys and even schools. I realised it takes more than age and qualification to succeed.At a point i ignored any invitation for aptitude test though i was the one that applied for it..to cut the long story short last month i got a job with an aviation company at MMIA..though we are still waiting to resume..

The journey isn't supposed to be smooth afterall

Since 2013...just started a clothing biz. Sharing some quarters with my dad at the same time job hunting! Right now I D̶̲̅ε̲̣y for one coy for vacancy! Pray for me!
Bottom line #don't stay idle! Try any thing good no matter how little!

hummm the comments here is kinda scary but gives hope anyways. I finished NYSC yesterday, got an appoitment to resume today, didnt take it cos its not my field, my father screamed at me wen I told him the salary, I have an interview tomoro nd sincerly hope it comes out good. Pop said the last driver he interviewed said he wants 40k per month and I want to settle for 35k per month plus il work on saturdays. Anyway ive gone to enrol for 3months professional course in Telecoms so I wont be idle as I wait for a job. I want us all not to get weary and be discouraged, Put all your hope in God and He will direct your path.
P.S not every open door is the right door for u to enter, wot may be in d room may not be for you.

Passed out from service June 5th dx year. Have been applying seriously. Its really frustrating to just b staying at home. One thing that has helped me is, I try to nt let the frustration get into me. I see it this way; some "big things" take time.

A man can't make a baby in one month by getting 9 women pregnant.. Patience is needed.


D beauty of it is dt....few years from now, we'll all look back and say with a big smile; mehhn God has been faithful.

I am quoting what I wrote a few months back to tell you all that my job search has ended and God did it in a very big way. As a matter of fact I am beginning to appreciate the fact that it took 8 months for me to get this job. If I had settled for less I am sure I won't be able to make as much of a career of what I would have engaged in.
In a few months time I would be sacking my mom as the breadwinner .
To those still in the search, I would say be persistent and don't settle for less and above all PLEASE PUT GOD FIRST, I can't over exaggerate GOD, because without Him I can do nothing.

wow....have really learnt alot here.....i also finished my service october 2013 and am still searching for a job, had a 2.1 in Biochemistry. All i know is that God's Time is the Best.

Hello great nairalanders. I'm the OP of this thread. I have come here today to show my appreciation to those who has contributed meaningfully to this thread. You guys have been wonderful and has been given hope to the once hopeless ones like me. I wanna announce today that I have gotten a Job - resumed about two weeks ago, and it is actually a very good place to start with and maybe continue. Lol. I wish you all the best. All of us who has contributed here will come here one day and share their testimony just as I believed I shall come back to this thread to share my testimony. I'll add that you should keep pushing forward and never giveup cos everyday you are getting closer and closer. God be with you all my friends. Thanks once again.

Hi. I graduated in 2012, got married, had a son who is 1year+. I got a marketing job in Feb 2012 in a real estate firm. The salary is on commission basis (10%) of whatever you bring in for the month. It wasn't easy, you spend on transport, feeding and phone calls. And if in a month you are not able to sell any land you go home empty. I had to quit in September. I am presently looking for another job. I get scared that I might not be able to get a job because of my age (33). I get depressed and the thing that keeps me going is my son. I read stories on NL and I hear young graduates lament about not getting jobs even with 2.1 that makes me more worried. My prayer is that I get something soon. By the way, I graduated with a 2.1, geography and planning. May God see us through.

The only weapon which the devil knows how to use best is fear, so don't givein to such.

Pray and work towards it and am sure very soon you will be back on this thread with song of praises.
We all have our challenges, but what keeps us going is the fact that we have a father who does not slumber or sleep.
