The name Patrick Sawyer is one Nigerians will learn to never forget in a hurry. Just like the Biblical Judas, Patrick is seen as a traitor and a villain, if not worse. At least Judas caused the death of one (though 'a' God) but Patrick brought death, potentially, to millions of Nigerians. All it takes, is for one more Patrick Sawyer to continue the domino effect.

Sacred scriptures admonished us to live for each other, to the extent of laying down our lives for our neighbour. No greater love can a man show than to lay down his life for a friend. This is the unselfish rule of love Patrick broke. He rejected the 'hellish experience' of being quarantined in a desperate effort to 'save' his life and as a result brought death to his neighbours.

Patrick was just being another human faced with two equally terrible choices. Any one of us could have made the exact same decisions he made if faced with such choices; but we are called to live above our natural inclinations. To choose death to save over life to kill. What will your response be if faced with the virus? Subject yourself to quarantine, hereby saving others or unleash the Patrick in you?
