And for those already there...well, even if you have three years left, just see it as some kind of discipline. Besides, it says on campus.

naijaobi: covenant univ school fees (500,000 Naira)... Ranking:32nd
University of Ilorin school fees (40,000naira).. Ranking:1st.

Did ur parents make the right choice? grin
There is no basis for the comparison because Covenant is a business venture but Unilorin is not. Covenant comes a distant 32nd bos education is not the primary aim of the institution, and as long as the money keeps coming i doubt if the owner would be bothered about the ranking.

keep in mind C.U is only 12yrs old and has won so many awards.....
how people can boast of the any feats their alma mata accomplished at that age?

Every organisation has its laws...if u dont like it, walk away.

Only fools doubt proof.

All this religion schools should be banned except it's free, nonsense. They only know how to exploit people without impacting on them. How can a full grown adult be restricted from using phone?

It's a bit extreme I ll say but I trust the management have their reasons. Meanwhile an alternative form of communication should be provided, maybe campus phone booths.

After 4 or 5 years of study, a full grown graduate of computer science cannot design a simple application a 13 years old Ukrainian does at his leisure time due to these restrictions!

To each his own.

What a glorified secondary school. This law won't make the students morally upright. Once the students are out, they'll use phones and commit any kind of iniquity they want to commit, like watch pórn etc. It makes no sense banning mobile phones entirely. They'd have adopted Madonna Uni's style of banning camera phones and leaving only Nokia Torch phones.

No matter their laws, a corrupt child will still be corrupt. This feels like imprisonment. Kudos to those living in that bondage.

Are you just hearing? Why the hate.

Upon the banning of phones, the school currently ranks No 2 top University in Nigeria and No 1 Private University in Nigeria. You can check the current Webometrics ranking

How many computer science graduates from our so called public universities with "no restrictions" can design an application? Some don't even know a single programming language. I don't see how banning phone use on campus affects students' abilities to learn.
