CNN•• An Indonesian girl has reunited with her family 10 years after being swept out to sea by a tsunami.
It’s been nearly 10 years since an earthquake triggered a massive tsunami in the Indian Ocean. The devastation was unprecedented–over 100,000 in Indonesia were left dead and more than 30,000 missing. Among the horror, was a family left grasping onto a plank of wood as the current pulled them out to sea.
According to DPA International, as the surge grew stronger, the mother and father watched in horror as their 7-year-old son, and 4- year-old daughter, Raudhatul, were swept away.
Now, 10 years later, the girl has been reunited with her parents.

Raudhatul Jannah was rescued and raised by a fisherman after being stranded on an island. It was not until June, when she was walking home in a village that her uncle spotted and recognized her. After asking a series of questions, her uncle realized the young girls identity.
On Wednesday, the now 14-year-old girl, was reunited with her family. “God has given us a miracle,” her mother told a local news station.
Jannah’s brother is still missing, but with the new wave of hope, her family believes he had as much of a chance as surviving as she did, since she said they both wound up standed on the Banyak Islands.
The family is now continuing their search for the young boy.
