Barely 24 hours after INEC declared the APC candidate in the Saturday’s governorship election, Governor Rauf Aregbesola winner, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Osun state and its candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore have expressed dissatisfaction with the outcome of the last Governorship election in the state.

To this end, both the PDP and Omisore have declared that they would challenge the result of the election before the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.

The Governorship candidate of the party, Senator Omisore has said that the outcome of the election did not
reflect the wishes of the people of the state, hence his resolve to challenge it before the Elections Petition Tribunal.

The state chairman of the party, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa in a statement issued in Osogbo Monday said the PDP would challenge the results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

I write to congratulate you on the just announced gubernatorial quest in the State of Osun. You have really shamed your detractors and those little thinkers whose only way they think you could be defeated was to label you a bad boy of Osun and Yoruba land.

You lost the contest not to the various bad names you were called, because those things don't count in Nigeria and never reflected in the pattern of the results released but your greatest challenges were located within the mixture of your faith and the birthplace of your main rival in the election. I had believed that as a Christian you had two major vote blocs out of five major operating blocs in the state but unfortunately your main rival still shared the two with you by virtue of his birth , what a disadvantage!

Your Excellency, you were not rejected at the poll because the votes that brought the incumbent to power four years ago was more than 100,000 below the figure you polled yesterday. He had 198,799 votes which represented 53.5 % and while he polled 399,684 yesterday representing 57.4% to up his percentage by mere 3% in spite of your various disadvantages.

The votes recorded by you yesterday is far above what made Fayose a governor-elect in Ekiti , greater than what made Mimiko of Ondo to do thanks giving at the Redeem Camp , far above the figure that made Amosun a governor in Ogun state despite the fact that all the above mentioned south-west states shared almost the same size of registered voters with Osun ! It then means that if you had contested in those states you would have been declared a governor-elect this morning !

You have fought a good fight , if not for the streak of oligarch in democratic system of selection the votes of about 300,000 good people of Osun would not have gone into this huge waste. You cannot change your faith just to make some electorates vote for you neither will you forge a new birthplace to corner any political advantage but one thing is sure , you did not loose to the appellation of having killed Bola Ige neither did you loose to your party affiliation but to the twin pedestrian and near political infantile considerations of faith and nativity.

You remain the biggest political leader in the south-west so far having polled about 300,000 votes being the largest haul for the PDP in the region in the recent past. So also no Jega or INEC can dethrone your Princeship of the Source.

Once again congratulations for emerging the new democratically confirmed leader of our party in the entire South-West.

We all can now see that they are all foools

When Fayose won the Ekiti elections Fayemi who even had more reasons to believe the elections weren't free and fair didn't contest the results. He even congratulated Fayose on his victory.

Who told this dumb bottom criminal that he'll win even if another election was conducted? Maybe the margin might even be wider

It is more honorable to accept defeat when it's obvious. Somebody was bound to loose. If politicians really seek for the good of the people (as they always say), then they should know that they can contribute to progress without necessarily being on the 'throne'..
