Otunbab: Cause am smart.

Which suggests that you're a potential con-artist, if not engaged in the trade already.

I think the question should be rephrased to "If you are standing in the midst of people from other countries, say France, Germany, USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Switzerland, South Africa, China, India" what about your country would you use to boast to them.

A French man would say that his country is one of tourists destination, they have car manufacturers, they produce wine, they have famous clothing lines.

A German would say that they produce machines and their standard of living is high.

A Canadian would say that people come to their country to study and their standard of living is high.

An Australian would say something about Kangaroos and their wildlife and their educational standard

A Chinese would say they manufacture almost anything

An Indian would say that they have one of the highest computer literates in the world and they produce Tricycles

They only thing I saw to be proud of among the posts was a comment about Chimamanda's novel and maybe something about producing oil which has even done more harm than good.

Truth is there is really nothing to boast about in Nigeria except probably for the name "Giant of Africa"

kobonaire: Nigerians are generally warm, confident, resilient and friendly people

The opposite of a Nigerian would be a Russian ... at least to these clueless but funny teenagers

I was proud to a Nigerian because it is a country where the UNLEARNED tell the LEARNED what to do and they will happily do it. Like bathing salt water because of Ebola.
I will be very happy to be called a Biafran.

zboyd: Labor Day in the States is just around the corner, replete with parades, barbeques and a day off work for some lucky Americans.

Giving honor to the day, a roving reporter on the streets of Dallas, Texas asked passersby "Why Are You Proud To Be American?"

Believe it or not, most people were stumped by the question- some struggled to answer- others just smiled, shook their heads and quickly walked away.

But what of YOU?

If you're a typical Nigerian then you've spent an inordinate amount of time complaining about Nigeria and other Nigerians.

At the same time, most Nigerians are fiercely proud of their country and are proud to be Nigerian.

But...what do you think makes Nigeria and Nigerians so special?

Why are YOU proud to be Nigerian?

You have made an erroneous assumption thus technically disqualifying me from answering your question correctly, but i will still go ahead. I AM NOT PROUD TO BE A NIGERIAN. I regret being a Nigerian. God owes me an explanation for creating amongst a people that are so corrupt, wasteful, backward thinking, so negatively inclined that more than 50 years after independence, we have learnt the first step towards getting anything right. I REGRET being a Nigerian.

I AM HAPPY AND PROUD to be a BIAFRAN

can't agree less with you,we ought to be enjoying given the abundant resources God blessed us with, but what do we have, the opposite. Our leaders are plain wicked, who deserved to be shot at close range..common electricity we can't solve. Nigeria is a shame among nations.
