The logic I'm seeing here is that the aspect of Ebola that kills is the internal and external bleeding, others are just symptoms of a weaken body system.

So get a drug that can stop the bleeding then the disease is 80% cured as we already have drugs for the other aspect of the disease.

Let's see the outcome of the verification

Essentially the Ebola virus attacks the cells that line the blood vessels....as well as the liver cells which produce clotting factors for the blood.

A target anti-ebola drug should stop the virus from getting into the cell, and integrating with the cell's DNA....kind of like the way hiv drugs work.

You have every right to blame the previous governments that have ruled this country since 1960 but certainly not the present one! I stand to be challenged that GEJ is the best president Nigeria has ever had, you may villify, blackmail, sabotage & intimidate him but the fact is that Nigeria is gradually becoming truly great under his regime. Though nobody or government is perfect, I give him thumbs up, despite a few shortcomings. The US can call this one insecticide if they like but I'm glad we have finally woken up from our slumber, two research results within a few weeks we were aflicted with Ebola, now we will start gaining the respect we deserve!

Nigerians now have cause to smile. This is as a result of a phenomenal breakthrough in herbal medicine in the country. Sufferers of HIV/AIDS and its associated problems like tuberculosis, sickle cell, malaria etc., need not look beyond the shores for effective and competent treatment. This feat is made possible as a result a breakthrough in Phytomedicine (the use of plants, parts of plants, and isolated phytochemicals for the prevention and treatment of various health concerns) by Halamin Chemicals Nigeria Limited, a company based in Abuja. The breakthrough has brought in an array of herbal drugs to treat an equally array of diseases. These drugs have passed all the required tests including that of NAFDAC.
Personal interests With great number of strides in pharmaceutical research and development, Chief Ahmadu can be said to be an enigma going by the landmark achievement in undertaking research on Igala Herbal Treatment/Cure for HIV/AIDS, Sickle Cell Aneamia, Ulcer and Tuberculosis, a herbal Treatment from Food for Lowering BP which has powerful libido enhancing effect and a powerful multi Herbal preparation for treating Diabetics all clinically certified by the Nigerian Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIRPD).

Re: Ebola: Nigerian Research Firm Submits Sample Drugs To FG by victorv12(m): 11:28am On Aug 18, 2014
I don't think it's necessary for any research institute in Nigeria to submit any breakthrough drug findings to any organisation outside the shore of the land regarding this deadly virus. The world health organisation which is highly dominated by the westerners will seek the interest of their own findings first before accepting any research breakthrough from African countries.

The interest of the big pharmaceutical companies in the west most be protected first before considering that of a BLACK MAN. In fact, the world health organisation can steal the technology for the top bidders in the west, and our researchers will be sidelined or assassinated just like they did Dr Umar Khan.

This ebola virus is a bio warfare attack on Africans in the first place. What are US bio warfare researchers doing in west Africa before this recent outbreak?

What diagnostic test have they be performing on the citizens of Sierra Leone ?

Why do we have reports that the government of Sierra Leone has told the Tulane university researchers and their partners from the west to stop ebola testing?

WHO will pass it to FdA, FdA will call fungicide, nhis will reject it that it doesn't meet standard, some Nigerians will be dancing around that America has told us what to do while some will create funny memes about it... That's just that.

PHARMACIST BAGS LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
By NBF News

Pharmacist Benjamin Amodu was recently conferred with Lifetime Achievement Award by the African Leadership Magazine.

Amodu has done research and developed drugs that can manage or cure a lot of sicknesses. Some of his drugs have gotten approval from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

Speaking with Daily Sun, Amodu noted that knowledge is the fortress that protects mankind from the tyranny of ignorance adding that ignorance was the dagger that pierced the soul of truth.

'For a man to fight for freedom, then he must strive to know. For he that knows, understands the way to liberty in expressing what he wants. If the paths to freedom are blocked by the tyranny of force, at least he still has a say and he will always be heard. Thus, knowledge is the light of freedom and freedom is a child of justice for justice is a pendulum that swings the banner of truth. But for a man to move from one stage to the other, then the realities that formed his character in decisions and actions must move from the status of tolerance to the zeal of change.'

Benjamin Amodu is a name to behold, but the man Ben Amodu as known today is an episode in the page of Nigeria Pharmaceutical history. It may be a vain venture for one to try planting a tree where grasses do not grow. But here, we have a man who has grown whole forest of change in a field where change is conservatively static and social order is defined by primordial identity. His compromise in life goes beyond the fear of the unknown, rise above the conception of divinity and sometimes flow in the opposite direction of popular culture.

Saddened by the consequences of avoidable deaths in Nigeria as precipitated by the incidence of wasting diseases like cancer, diabetes, tuberculosis, ulcer, sickle cell anaemia, this man deprived his body to satisfy his mind. In the search for knowledge and in the practice of wisdom he faced the challenges of unusual contradictions, common only to those who seek the truth in form and order, drawing analysis on the way things appear and the way they really are. The character he bears in high value does not hang on him on temporary contest, but dwelled in him on permanent contract.

In the purity of his thoughts, the freedom of his imagination and the vindication of his conscience he found great fulfillment that transcends beyond mere judgement of material evaluation. To him, success does not lie in the judgement of the eyes but in the contentment of the soul. To a king who acquires much, same to a servant who has naught. He considers happiness as the soul of achievement, this he found in the dawn of his aspirations, when the light of fulfillment illuminates the path of his dream.

The story of Ben Amodu is that of prolific creative achievement, versatility and resourcefulness coated in absolute wonders and admirations. How else can you describe the life of this man who in the unquenchable thirst for experience is today an authority in the pharmaceutical, legal and administrative world? In calculated strides, this man combined all these with natural intelligence to carve a niche for himself in the circle of nation builders. You therefore cannot deny him the firm understanding of the legal implications of different policies and their effects on the civil service. His understanding of the political system in Nigeria tied to a solid understanding of the Nigeria healthcare delivery system and its component element and a very vast experience in the Federal Civil Service adds to his excellent understanding of the public sector rules and procedures in Nigeria.

With great number of strides in pharmaceutical research and development, Amodu can be said to be an enigma going by the landmark achievements in undertaking research in herbal treatments/management for HIV/AIDS, sickle cell anaemia, ulcer and tuberculosis, a treatment from food for lowering BP which has powerful libido enhancing effect and a powerful multi-herbal preparations for treating diabetes, including the management/treatment of the following diseases, malaria, menstrual irregularities/pain, menopausal symptoms, cancer, fibroid, hypertensions, diabetes, pain and all pains in associated diseases, diseases of unknown origin, general wellness; healthy state maintenance, stress, sleep disorder, low vision, vitality, prostate enlargement, anti-aging etc. all clinically certified by the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD).

It is worth noting that Amodu has developed 12 anti-cancer recipes and a malaria vaccine all with Nigeria's origin with Igala indigenous herbal combinations which are undergoing the scientific analysis at National Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development, Idu, Abuja. A discovery that is getting global recognition, especially with the recent invitation by the World Health Organisation/African Network for Drugs and Diagnostic Innovation (ANDI) where he presented his scientific breakthrough at Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia.

Sammiel: Releasing an experimental drug for such a serious disease without testing such a drug on 'lower animals' like Baboons is just a waste of time and an opportunity for the westerners to make mockery of our dear country.
What are you saying sef? do you know if they've tested those drugs on lower primates before submitting them? Or you can't just imagine that nigerians can provide a cure for ebola?
The West have always had this tradition of playing down other peoples intelligence. In the 1960s, Japanese cars were laughed @ by the West. In the 80s it was the turn of the Chinese and the Taiwanes to be mocked, but look @ these people today! If you're afraid of mockery, then you may as well go live in a hole. Nigerians are among the smartest people on the planet, and believe you me, we can get a cure for ebola. Be optimistic.

D problem with approval of drugs in Nigeria is NAFDAC . They don't do clinical trials for new drugs. In d US, companies spend billions b4 they have their drugs approved. In Nigeria NAFDAC just test herbal drugs for dangerous ingredient b4 approving.
