1.) The fifth estate (2013)
it's about wikileaks and it's founder-jullian assange.
If u pause the movie at some codg sections,you'll b able to read d live codes on d computer screens(looks like ruby/python code)

2.) Office space (1999)
- office comedy about programmers at wrk and unfair treatmnt of corporate employees.
This movie was mentioned in one or two computer books i used.

3.) Goodwill Hunting (1997)
the subject here is math not programming or computers.
The math genius here,played by matt damon, is a janitor.
I think,it has a 98% freshness on rotten tomatoes.


4.) Something Ventured (2011)
Documentary about the origin of most ,now, big Tech companies and venture capitalists firms.
Includg first person interviews with some of d biggest names in tech and venture capitalism. Their stories and experiences and challenges they faced going from nobody to sombody.
Educative and insightful.

5.) Jobs (2013)

starring austen kutcher .
Life about the life and times of business mogul, design and strategy genuis steve jobs.

6.) Pirates of sillicon valley (1999)

About jobs and bill gates. From an earlier perspectve.
It wud b nice to watch this one and d Jobs movie for different perspectves.
Seems like d only film to potray bill gates.

7.) The social network (2012)
About Zuckerberg and the foundg of facebook.
There's no potrayal of code in this movie except for a passing screen shot at d beginning (php code,i think).

8.) The interns (2013)
Owen wilson co-starring.
A comedy about two out-of-luck salesmen who crashd their way into a google internship program and how they managed to survive d challenge.

A google movie.
Mentions of some eminent old skul text editors durg a class session. (vim,emacs etc).

9.) We are Legion (2011)
a documentary on the Hacktivist group alcoholic anonymous.
You'll leave this movie more educated and enlightened about
hackg,governance,information suppression etc.

10.) Tron (1982)
okay,the date is old. But it was pretty watchable almost 30 yrs after. There's no coding per se but the concept is about programs in a computer characterized as individuals. With a ruthless dictator super program tht kills,controls and enslaves, other programs.
A human,geek, found himself in this computer world and has to survive or b victim.

11)Tron:Legacy (2010)
sequel to Tron.

One point 0 (aka paranoia 1.0)
Never really saw the point of d movie,but d protagonist was a programmer. Contracted a disease tht made him addcted to fruit
juice etc.

13.) Independence Day (1996)
oldie now. But jeff goldblum writing and uploadg the virus tht
eradicated the alien threat was seat-gripping.

14.) Die Hard (2007)
suprisingly, this action thriller had som high hackg content. I watched it for d bust but bruce willis side kick carried me along too.

15.) Matrix (1999)
who hasnt watched the matrix here?.
Signify by payng a fine?
No computers but theres digital angle to it all. The matrix. Life,is digitized ,the good and d bad are all permutations of ones and zeros
juggled together by one great computer program-the matrix.

Actually, in "we are legion",it was revealed tht some crackers are sponsored by hostile nations against anoda (the u.s in this case) so the cyber war is already on,not yet full blown.

when I get time, I'll get some, HV heard so much about most of em from ma frendz.
