lokoloko84: You keep on using FD words
Are you just a learner or high school graduate. You are lost and seems you are short of words.mumu, I am here to cure your sillyness and irrational behavior on this forum.

Fool, i don't play with words instead I use the right word for each instance. No matter how repeated they are used, it doesn't matter as long as they are apt in the context they are being used.
Now fool, substantiate ur lies. grin

Mr, u r obviously resistant to learning! D guy's telling u wat is obtainable n u r busy arguing. I donno 1 federal health institution in which it's nurses job to collect any sample. That however occurs in lots of state owned hospitals because those hospitals usually have very few doctors n so many patients. Nurses don't also set I.v lines n if they do in ur absence they want you to pay them for it, @least they request for a bottle of coke. It 's not also their job to administer i.v medications. Se u grab?

Nwokem, as we advance.. Please refrain from cynical comments such as is contained in the above referenced post.. I say this because if I indulge you, you would not enjoy having this conversation. Thanks. NOW... Back to the topic;

I am really surprised out of my Mind to hear that it is Doctors the set up I.V's, give injections and collect blood samples from patients. grin Its so ridiculous that I am really really in shock.. So please tell me what the nurses role in a 'Federal Hospital' is exactly?!

I sak this because I have never been inside any hospital where the Doctor collected samples from me. Infact, they normally would write you a 'prescription' (I dunno the medical term) and hand it to a Nurse who then runs with it.. Infact, the doctor is not even there when samples are collected.

So please tell me what the Nurses do?! Because the next thing you will tell me now too is that Federal Doctors also do the work of the pharmacist as well. grin

I said that I have always been surrounded by folks from the medical profession
This is how the argument has always gone:

The doctors complain that they spent so much time at university studying
the pharmacists retort that they also spend long time studying and that whereas a doctor can only take one life at a time in error
they (pharmacists) can take the lifes of hundreds at a go in error

Other 'medical' fields feel slighted that they are looked down on by even the most junior of doctors
I mean it this thread, someone made reference to the nurse running way derogratilly
such putting down is typical

No wonder the JOHESU group is anti NMA

My friend, Pharmacists in Nigerian hospitals only dispense drugs. You dont need any big training to do that. All other health workers knew that a Dr can comfortably do without them, and that's why they included cleaners, generators operators, etc in their JOHESU. Now tell me what's the meeting point of cleaner and a Pharmacist. Very laughable really!

You do realise that it is mostly in Nigeria that Doctors do everybodys job right?! grin

Infact, with what you just said; A Nigerian Doctor is trained to handle EVERY aspect of Medicine ranging from Diagonistics to surgery to the jobs of the nurses and even radiology and co.. No wonder our Medical practice in Nigeria can be likened to Native doctor practice.. grin

Infact, abroad a Pharmacist can change the entire prescription written by a doctor (especially if it isnt a prescription medication like Valium and Rohypnol).

This is the first time I am hearing that a Doctor can do without other medical professionals.

Yes, a medical Dr can do without other health workers because he's taught the basic things that other health workers do, and that's why he leads the health team. Pathologists are Drs who specialise in laboratory diagnosis, a Radiologist is a Dr who specialises in radiography, etc. So Drs can treat a patient without the imput of other health workers. So, you grab?

Solution... FG should fire all the support staff and use their salaries to augument that of the Doctors and that way we can have Doctors with plenty money that are happy and our health sector can be redeemed..

Amen!!
