Adamawa: Jonathan Withdraws Support From Ribadu by 1United1: 11:33am On Aug 23, 2014
The Presidency is said to have withdrawn its support from the candidacy of former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission chairman, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu ahead of the gubernatorial elections in Adamawa State.

Sources say the Presidency is worried over the disaffection caused by the entrance of Ribadu into the race, especially amid intelligence that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was positioning to use the acrimony to his advantage.

A source told reporters at SUN news, “The race in the coming days is likely to be very interesting but we have all resolved to be very careful because in politics, you cannot take chances, especially ones that are likely to jeopardise the chances of your party.

“When the issue of Ribadu first came up, some indices which we are witnessing now had not come up then.

“For instance, no one knew that the acting governor was going to be interested. Also, the impression was created that all other aspirants were going to step down for him (Ribadu) on the intervention of a mutual friend of most them who brought the Ribadu option. “But right now, the president has insisted that he cannot support any of the aspirants against others since there appears not be a consensus among them and more so, that the hurdles we thought could be cleared for Ribadu are not just there but are still waxing stronger.

“So, the situation as it is now means that all the aspirants would have to carry their various ambitions on the strength of their structures.

Every candidate contesting under PDP should be provided with a level playing ground. Let the best among them win.
The decision of the President is a good one as this will prevent ill feelings, anger and perceived injustice among fellow contestants.

I think this is the best Jonathan can do. Let everyone of them contest using his own political structure.
Re: Adamawa: Jonathan Withdraws Support From Ribadu by Nobody: 1:51pm On Aug 23, 2014
Ribadu does not have the structure to win the primaries, but would win the general elections if given the ticket. Besides, all the politicians are scared of him cos he might stop 'business as usual' for them.

President Jonathan does not command much followership in Adamawa state. Same goes for all his men in the state. He needs a man that can command respect and trust of the people in the state and the north east, come 2015.

Ali Modu Sheriff, Bala Mohammed, Isa Yuguda and all others lay claim to commanding large crowds, in the north east, just the same way a child lays claim to the ownership of the goat, till it is slaughtered.

Ribadu should be his compass in that region.

Ribadu should face his woes alone. That's how he has chosen to lay his bed.

They were only being civil because the office of the president of the Federal republic stands respected far beyond what your limited intelligence can comprehend, but the wrong doing of the man occupying the seat must not be confused with the presidential institution.

BTW is Bill Clinton also a member of APC?

B4 nkor.. PDP na him papa house wey only him go waka come collect governorship ticket just like dat? That would be most unfair to other loyal PDP aspirants.. From the look of things PDP may collapse because of infighting.. APC seem more united in Adamawa currently.

Ribadu had taken a wrong step to a direction that will spell doom to his political ambition. From now he will become a nonrelivant in political arena.

Hehehehe!!! grin grin even the phucking APC will reject him should incase he intends to return to their folds.

I thought they said GEJ isn't smart? He has decided to 'flog' Ribadu small because of all his unguarded insults and utterances to him

It is now they are teaching Ribadu the basics in politics. Next time he will look twice before he makes a jump!
