- Whenever she start sniffing the ground, it may be a sign that she wants to poop. Take her outside immediately.
- If the puppy starts pooping while inside, immediately say "STOP IT" loudly and rush the puppy outside to finish up. No beating pls.
- If your dog poops inside, clean it thoroughly with bleach to remove the smell. Dogs like to poop where they've pooped before.
- When you take your dog outside to poop, wait patiently and point to where you want her to poop.
- If she poops outside in your presence, praise her and pet her immediately after she has finished pooping.
- The above step is important so your puppy understands that the problem is not pooping in your presence but pooping inside.
- If you are busy and can't watch her closely, take her outside to where pooping is allowed.
- If she must be inside, lock her in a cage or chain her inside with 0.5m to 1m of freedom (dogs don't like to poop where they rest).
- Note the times when the puppy is likely to want to poop (after eating/drinking, waking up, and playing) and take her outside.
- A very young puppy has to poop frequently, so you must take her outside regularly or let her be outside where pooping is allowed.
- The above steps apply to urination as well.

by the way how do u know the dog is a female?
the problem is at night,they roam about in the compound during the day,but kip them in my varandah at night to prevent them from cold and the likes,they always poo at night making mi cleaning thw tiles every day..is it safe to live a puppy outside at night?

I used to have 3 local dogs the popular mongrel...when I was a kid...we never trained them..they just knew they ain't suppose to poo or pee around the house..i don't know how d dogs figured it out they just don't poo anywhere around the house..nd they feed in wateva we eat at home...now I own a lhasa...damn this lhasa can shiit to. he can shiit on my bed if care is not taken...he pees in the sofa sef..thank God Dat one naaa leather..my living room would have been un bearable....oga Seun said no beating....i had to start beating ooooo...im sorry to say...cos I tried all these carrying here nd there for sometime nd it ddnt work for me....in fact I have koboko for dexter.. he now goes to the visitors toilet to poo....I think it's cos he doesn't want me to beat him nd dats the only place he poo Dat I don't shout stop or use the koboko...I don't let him go out cos he's crazily hairy nd I don't wanna take chances with ecto- parasites..

Try feeding them earlier in the day so they would have emptied their tummies by night time. It's good that you're protecting them.

I actually did try the method....after a couple of months..i got tried...cos he wasn't stable...sum times he goes outside nd sometimes...he can be so bad Dat he'll do it on the centre rug

Alright...when I got him at eight 6weeks nd I notice Dat he is a hell of shiter...I almost sold him but I complained to the vet Dat gives him his worm expeler etc..so he told me what to do.....he poos mostly in the morning nd in the afternoon so I take him out at those time...sometimes when am not at home in the afternoon...I meet poo when I get back...he seemed to be getting it at some point but later he just does it anywhere even in the kitchen...

My dog is 2 or 3 years old and I feed him twice a day. You should feed yours 3 times a day since they are puppies. Early morning, noon, and 4-5pm. Keep them outside or under your strict supervision until 10pm or later.
