we can as well as tag the extreme repulsion to polygamy as barbaric. Are we not capable of objectivity?
In fact, polygamy is barbaric practice! PERIOD! You are talking about the opposite in the real sense of it.

Another form of a racism in Europe is not to poor African immigrant but if an African in Europe is looking/living very good than most Europeans in their standard, its a big problem especially if he has no skeleton…….A lot of people call that racism but I see more of envy in most things that people call racism…..Most whites from what I have seen prefers to relate with people from poor countries but when you are better than them especially if you are from one of the supposed less privilege countries, then its war….Most time the best way to deal with it is to ignore them especially when they are not coming to you directly...

I'm fed up
How is polygamy barbaric? When three or more consenting adults decide to share their love.
You let another man tell you entirely what is wrong or not!
I'm tired of your kind.

This isn't racism. The persistent racial prejudice experienced in white societies has created a subtle caste system within minority groups. Sadly the prevailing perception that minorities closer to white people (in how they speak, what they eat, how they look, where they are born etc) are far more superior than their other black brethren. Some Africans and Caribbeans therefore detest each other to be seen as been closer to white people. I see this tendency all the time.

You are 100 percent , its not really racism per se but they are related or has a link somehow ... as per statement you got it just right , i see the other blacks that have managed to integrate into the white societies tend to stay away from black people in a nice and subtle way and vice versa ..its a complex situation that arose from racism and tends to be more subtle..
see what a white scholar wrote recently in the media
Racism Through Education, the Media and the Government
Racism has affected the world for thousands of years. Why? What is it that makes one man think he is better than another? Most people assume that racism only deals with color of skin, but it goes way beyond that. Racism is the belief that one person is better than another person for any reason at all: color of skin, nationality, mental ability, sex, etc.
It is a serious social problem. It threatens the quality of peoples lives and cherished values. We have all seen the damage that racism has done. Why are we still dealing with this problem? The major reason is that for the past 150 years the theory of evolution has been taught in schools and evolutionary ideas are being sent throughout our society by our education system, our media and our government.
You may be saying to yourself, "How does evolution apply to this?" Here is your answer. The basic theory of evolution says that from one single-cell Amoeba came all of life. This little Amoeba supposedly evolved itself into new sub-species or races of higher class, over and over again. Eventually people arrived and from them the white man, the superior race! Well, in order for people to get here, hundreds and maybe thousands of races had to become extinct because they weren't good enough or intelligent enough or pretty enough to stay around. So they died and we were left with all those inferior beings like animals, black people, yellow people and women.
Now, you might say, "You cant be serious!" But, here is what Charles Darwin once said about white men being superior. "I could show . . . natural selection . . . doing more for the progress of civilization than you seem inclined to admit"The more civilized so-called Caucasian races have beaten the Turkish hollow in the struggle for existence. Looking to the world at no very distant date, what an endless number of the lower races will have been eliminated by the higher civilized races throughout the world." "At some future period, not very distant as measured by centuries, the civilized races of man will almost certainly exterminate and replace throughout the world the savage races. At the same time the anthropomorphous apes"will no doubt be exterminated. The break will then be rendered wider, for it will intervene between man in a more civilized state, . . . than the Caucasian, and some ape as low as a baboon, instead of as at present between the Negro . . . and the gorilla."
Here is what Charles Darwin had to say about women. "It is generally admitted that with women the powers of intuition, of rapid perception, and perhaps of imitation, are more strongly marked than in man; but some . . . of these faculties are characteristic of the lower races, and therefore of a past and lower state of civilization. The chief distinction in the intellectual powers of the two sexes is shown by man attaining to a higher eminence, in whatever he takes up, than woman can attain whether requiring deep thought, reason, or imagination, or merely the use of the senses and hands."
Thomas Huxley, Darwins close friend said this about Africans. "No rational man, cognizant of the facts, believes that the average Negro is the equal, still less the superior, of the white man. And if this be true, it is simply incredible that, when all his disabilities are removed, . . . as well as no oppressor, he will be able to compete successfully with his bigger-brained and smaller-jawed rival, in a contest which is to be carried out by thoughts and not by bites."
You might say, "Okay, I can see that Darwin was a racist and that evolution is a racist theory, but, so what?" Well, when the world, began to accept the concepts of evolution,. Evolutionary concepts of superiority entered every area of life and people truly began to believe them.
Karl Marx and Adolph Hitler formed many of their beliefs around the concepts of natural selection and survival of the fittest. White race purity groups like the KKK began to arise. Everything became segregated: public transportation, public eating places, public schools. Signs were everywhere: "FOR WHITES ONLY!" Most white people believed the lie of racism, even some Christians.

What Is Racism?

The use of the term 'racism' is relatively recent and as such its definition is not entirely settled.

The American Heritage College Dictionary, has two meanings. Firstly, racism is “the belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.” Secondly, racism is, “Discrimination or prejudice based on race.”

The Oxford English Dictionary defines racism as the "belief that all members of each race possess characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races" and the expression of such prejudice.

The Merriam-Webster's Dictionary defines it as a "belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority or inferiority of a particular racial group, and alternatively that it is also the prejudice based on such a belief."

The Macquarie Dictionary defines racism as: "the belief that human races have distinctive characteristics which determine their respective cultures, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule or dominate others."

There Are 8 Major Types Of Racism

1. COLORISM. Colorism is often viewed as a problem that’s unique to communities of color. It occurs when minorities discriminate against those with darker skin than they have. For years in the black community, lighter skin was viewed as superior to darker skin. Anyone with skin color that was lighter than a brown paper lunch bag was welcomed into elite organizations in the black community, while darker-skinned blacks were excluded. But colorism doesn’t exist in a vacuum. It’s a direct offshoot of a white supremacist ideology that values whites over people of color and equips Caucasians with what’s known as 'white skin privilege'. Colorism also exists outside of the African-American community. In Asia, sales of skin whitening products remain sky high.

2. ECONOMIC RACISM. This form of racism is alleged to be a form of discrimination caused by past racism and historical reasons, affecting the present generation through deficits in the formal education and kinds of preparation in previous generations, and through primarily unconscious racist attitudes and actions on members of the general population. For example, in 2011,Bank of America agreed to pay $335 million to settle a federal government claim that its mortgage division, Countrywide Financial, discriminated against black and Hispanic homebuyers.

3. ETHNOCENTRISM. Ethnocentrism refers to a tendency to use your own culture as the standard by which to judge and evaluate other cultures. The ethnocentric individual will judge other groups relative to his or her own particular ethnic group or culture, especially with concern to language, behavior, customs, and religion. This can lead to biases and a tendency to view cultural differences as abnormal or in a negative light. It can also make it difficult to see how your own cultural background influences your behaviors.

4. INSTITUTIONAL RACISM. Institutional racism is racial discrimination by governments, corporations, religions, or educational institutions or other large organizations with the power to influence the lives of many individuals.

5. INTERNALIZED RACISM. Internalized racism is when a minority believes that whites are superior. A highly publicized example of this is a 1954 study involving black girls and dolls. When given the choice between a black doll and a white doll, the black girls disproportionately chose the latter. In 2005, a teen filmmaker conducted a similar study and found that 64% of the girls preferred the white dolls. The girls attributed physical traits associated with whites, such as straighter hair, with being more desirable than traits associated with blacks.

6. HORIZONTAL RACISM. When this occurs, members of minority groups adopt racist attitudes towards other minority groups. An example of this would be if a Japanese American prejudged a Mexican American based on the racist stereotypes of Latinos found in mainstream culture.

7. REVERSE RACISM. “Reverse racism” refers to anti-white discrimination. It’s often used in conjunction with practices designed to help minorities, such as affirmative action. The Supreme Court continues to receive cases that require it to determine when affirmative action programs have created anti-white bias. Social programs have not only generated cries of “reverse racism” but people of color in positions of power have also. A number of prominent minorities, including the biracial President Obama, have been accused of being anti-white. The validity of such claims is clearly debatable. They indicate, though, that as minorities become more prominent in society, more whites will argue that minorities are biased. Because people of color will surely gain more power over time, get used to hearing about “reverse racism.”

8. SUBTLE RACISM. Subtle racism, sometimes referred to as 'modern racism', doesn’t make the headlines that, say, reverse racism does, but it’s likely the form of discrimination that people of color most often experience. Victims of subtle, or covert, racism may find themselves snubbed by wait staff in restaurants or salespeople in stores who believe that people of color aren’t likely to be good tippers or able to afford anything expensive. Targets of subtle racism may find that supervisors, landlords, etc., apply different rules to them than they do to others. An employer might run a thorough background check on an applicant of color, while accepting a job applicant from a prospective white employee with no additional documentation. Racial prejudice is the driving force behind subtle racism.

Mrval20: The American Heritage College Dictionary, has two meanings. Firstly, racism is “the belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.”... In that case, most Nigerians are racist because most of them believe that "race accounts for differences in human character or ability" (every white guy working here in Nigeria is considered to be a genius), and that "a particular race is superior to others" (I don't even need to cite examples here).

I think people who use the word "minorities" are racist

that minority is confusing, now that im now a little endowed, who you thought was minority are are in fact the majority, the black people are more in number, however economically, socially, militarily, and demon-cratically the minority are more and consider theirselve superior (racism). what you term as racism relating to the majority( blackman) is actually not racism but reactionists.

bigfrancis21: Nice article. I'll recommend it for the front page.
i like your write up ..and i will like to add my own observation as well

There is only one race, the human race. "Races" is a purely evolutionary terminology. Just because people have different skin color and different facial features does not mean that there are different races, only that there are people having different ethnic appearances. In fact there is only one skin color pigment in humans.
How much melanin is in your skin, is determined genetically. It is a fact that if you take two mulatto people and combine their genes you can get a wide variety of skin tones ranging from very light to very dark in one generation.
So what does all this mean? It means there are no such things as different races and therefore there should be no such thing as racism, right? Wrong! People want to believe that they are superior. It is human nature to want to be better than everybody else is.
Racist ideas are still very prevalent today: predominantly white neighborhoods versus predominantly black neighborhoods; the KKK versus the NAACP; black churches versus white churches; etc. While some of these ideas may come about by choice, most of them are because people still don't accept one another as equals. The next question is, "Where does it exist?"
The most visible place that racism exists is in the job market. Many people sue companies for not hiring them or for firing them on the basis of their race. There are many laws and acts of Congress on the books to help set racial discrimination straight: The Equal Pay Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Nineteenth Century Civil Rights Acts (amended 1993), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Rehabilitation Act, the American with Disabilities Act, the Black Lung Act, etc.
Racism is a form of evil in the class of hatred , not necessarily based on color of the skin . most of the genocide and xenophobia stems from evil mindset . Genocide happened in all white countries and it also raised its ugly head in all black countries as well .

The government seems to be confused more than anything. While all of these affirmative actions are being considered, a great number of anti-affirmative action laws are being passed, also. Do we still need affirmative action? Has it done any good? According to NELA (National Employment Lawyers Association) we still need affirmative action for many reasons: women earn 71 cents for every dollar earned by men; for every dollar a white male makes, African-American women make 64 cents, Hispanic women 54 cents, and African-American men 72 cents; black men and women make up less than 2.5% of total employment in senior level private sector jobs; etc. "Mfume pointed out that media has traditionally had problems, particularly in broadcasting. He added that there has been a dearth of minorities and women and there have been too few blacks, Asian, women, and other ethnic minorities in the industry."
Conservatives believe that affirmative action is a racist policy. Myth: Affirmative action just gives a helping hand to the economically disadvantaged. Reality: Affirmative action prefers, blacks, and women. What about economically disadvantaged white men? Myth: Affirmative Action policies do not violate anyones rights. Reality: Affirmative Action policies, in the form of preferential college admissions, hiring practices and issuances of government contracts may very well violate the 14th Amendment and Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. The list goes on and on.
What does the media say about racism? Of course, no anchor person, journalist or editor would ever admit to being racist.
Everybody has their own solutions to the problem of racism: affirmative action, congressional acts and legislation. If these are supposed to be such great solutions, why don't we see major change? The government and the organizations like the NAACP are putting Band-Aids on the cancer so they can cover up the real problem. As long as the KKK is around and as long as evolution is being taught in the classroom, the Band-Aids will be ripped off and the cancer will get bigger.
My solution to racism is to stop teaching evolution. When you stop teaching evolution, you will stop telling children that they are better than somebody else is because they are black or white, pretty or ugly, smart or mentally challenged. If future generations are taught that everyone is equal no matter your gender, age, skin color, or intelligence level; we would eventually have a non-racist society. I know that it is a pretty broad solution but it would work. If you teach kids that they came from monkeys, eventually they will start acting like monkeys. If you teach children that they all came from the same blood, they will start acting like brothers and sisters. They will learn to love one another and we will have a non-racist society.

its a sour topic but we have to talk about because humans have a short memory and history of hatred tend to repeats itself :
You may be saying to yourself, "How does evolution apply to this?"
Here is your answer.

No, stopping teaching evolution is not a solution, but a defeatist measure at best. And moreover, evolution is at the base of many areas of modern science, and sending it to the garbage bin would negatively affect the human civilization as a whole. I have no problems with evolution and will explain why. Yes, Darwin and Huxley were notorious racists, but this doesn't make the fruits of their work less valid. The modern version of evolution tells us that white people have evolved from black people under the evolutionary pressure of the extreme climatic conditions of the Ice Age. Such extreme evolutionary pressures never produce superior results - only inferior. For example, the sickle cell gene has evolved under the extreme pressure of the deadly malaria disease. One hardly can argue that the sickle cell sufferers are somewhat superior, right? The same holds true with the so called "whites" - feeble creatures with pink skin which burns so easily that they cannot thrive in their own ancestral homeland - Africa, suffer from melanoma and other deadly skin neoplastic diseases etc. Whites are indeed inferior and it is proven by the very same evolution you want to hide from public view.

i understand your point and perspective , i dont think evolution was the issue but it was the use of it as an instrument to mess up peoples mind ...its been proven that people are not born racist but they pick up this ideas from evolution theories linked to race evolution and i believe the evil minds of some of the evolutionist used it for their on means as well ..or for those that are spiritual , the devil used it to mess up humans and we are still seeing the effect .
i personally dont have a problem with evolution especially when the evidence are provided via fossils and other materials .

as per dumping evolution teachings , some of this teachings has to be dropped especially the ones that downgrade humanity or that are linked to race taxonomy or classification . Countries like USA and UK have started to tweak or adapt the positives of evolution and leaving the obvious degrading ones ..i believe thats where the theory came from ...that whites come out of black via melatonin mutation or migration of gene ...very funny but most whites didnt accept the theory .
