shizzle11hiv: Der is no doubt in my mind that Ihejirika is the main sponsor of Bokoharam. The menace of BH was under control till GEJ appointed this incompetent man and he totally messed things up. There is no doubt he has a hand in all of this.

Why cry now after the Aussie journalist revealed his part in terrorism in Nigeria?

Only for the eddiot to making counter allegations after he has been busted. Ihejirika should be arrested and investigated immediately

Sincere9gerian: Former Chief of Army Staff, General Onyeabor Azubuike Ihejirika on Thursday opened a can of worms by declaring that the former minister of the Federal Capital Territory and APC Chieftain, Mallam Nasir El-Rufia is one of the frontline Commanders Haram terrorist group.
Speaking with Vanguard over allegation by the former minister that he (Ihejirika) and former Governor Modu Sheriff of Borno State were fingered as terrorists sponsors, General Ihejirika said he is not surprised that this unimaginable allegation is coming from one of the Boko Haram Commanders
“The (Commanders) including El-Rufai know where the problem is He should stop deceiving Nigerians by trying to divert attention”.
According to Ihejirika, “When the Boko Haram operation started, supporters of the sect like El-Rufai said that there was nothing like Boko Haram and that the army was just killing innocent youths”.

“If you also remember, not too long ago, some of their supporters including El-Rufai said that I was re-inventing the killing of the Ibos during the Biafra war following government’s determination to rid the country of terrorism.
Ihejirika who was obviously angry while speaking on phone, also said, “The likes of El-Rufai started the campaign of human right abuses, in order to divert the international attention of the heinous crime being committed by the Boko Haram terrorists”.
Gen. Ihejirika then recalled recent allegations against his person indicating that that he took away N48 billion, an amount of money which is still in the coffers of the Ministry of Defence, which can be verified by anybody adding that he was not surprised that these allegation is coming from the likes of El-Rufai who started the campaign.
Continuing the former Army Chief said, “The likes of El-Rufai have been supporting Boko Haram. In fact, El-Rufai and his likes are the same group of people that ensured the army did not to get the requested equipment to deal with this menace once and for all, as they used their cohorts to tell the government that procuring modern equipment were not necessary”

Recalling that the same El-Rufai went to Thisday Newspaper premises to grant interview to condemn security forces for the efforts at ridding the country of these senseless mayhem by the terrorists, Ihejirika said, “At the onset of this crisis, I was the first person to declare that the country was at war but group of sponsors led by El-Rufai disagreed, that it was not true”

“It is the same group of El-Rufai that started the human right abuses campaign. It was done in order to block any international assistance after the state of emergency was declared and the sect was initially tamed. That gave Boko Haram time and respite to build up again”.

Furthermore, General Ihejirika said that when the United States was to initially declare Boko Haram a terrorist organization, the same El-Rufai and his group mounted pressure on the international community, using alleged human right abuses as campaign strategy.

The former Army Chief revealed that this same group including El-Rufai have taken further steps in support of Boko Haram, “which I cannot disclose for now”

It will be recalled that shortly after his tenure came to an end as COAS, some Northern political elites started the crusade for General Azubuike Ihejirika to be summoned before the International criminal Court in the Hague claiming that he killed their sons and daughters innocently whereas it is on record that no other military leader but Ihejirika did a lot in helping the nation contain the rapid spread of Boko Haram insurgency in the country.

He not only established the 7th Division of the Nigerian Army with headquarters in Maiduguri, he established new Army Brigades, Counter Terrorism Schools in Kachia and Jaji as well as the Terrorism Training School.

Ihejirika The Liar!

Why didnt you rein in El-Rufai if you knew he was a Boko Haram commander and make a show of him and all his ilk...........So according to you a Boko haram commander is walking free and yet you can't share your intel on him with your C-In-C and other security agencies

Charlatan Soldier man....so is anyone that is against GEJ is a Boko Haramist?

Ihejirika when will you disclose who the sponsors of BH are so that your clueless President who also said he knows them can quickly arrest them and make an example of them

I now believe ihejirika or whatever way his name is pronounced should be made to face the ICC. Could this be why the US said BH gets its weapon from Nigeria army?

The Australian negotiator should be called to the NA to substantiate his allegations against Ihejirika, Nigerian must begin to demand answers and not PDP political never-do-wells who think a decent day job means lying and deceit!

The Australian journalist cum negotiator is the most foolish man ever liveth. In his foolish wisdom, he think the Boko Haram foot soldiers will ever revealed their real "sponsors"? The mouth piece of Boko Haram and propagandists, El-Rufai gave them a script which they acted perfectly well in front of the Aussie. They needed a fall guy and the IBO man that halted their expansionist movement becomes their victim for vendetta.

Boko Haram shall crumble and their quest for power shall never materialise.

#say NO to Islamic Agenda!
#say NO to Islamic Republic of Nigeria

Very soon all the Islamic footprints in Nigeria shall be eroded. Our naira shall be free of their emblem, the Islamic bank brought by their mallam MUST disappear and we will truly have a secular FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA where merit is the benchmark for engagement.

Boko haram kill and maim people, destroy houses and sack communities in the Northern part of Nigeria

This attack has intensified since the administration of Goodluck Jonathan, who is a southerner.

Attempts to rid the north of the boko haram menace over this period have witnessed resistance from groups in the same north.

General Ihegirika recorded a major breakthrough in defeating boko haram, but elders from the same north, as if in the shoes of boko haram fighters, mounted pressure on the presidency to remove Ihejirika, the same man working to save their own people.

When the insurgency got worse following ihejirika's removal, same northerners were on top of their voices againt same the insecurity they worked for.

when more than 450 northerners were arrested following a suspicious night movement in Aba by the military, including a man comfirmed by the army to be a wanted terrorist, the same northerners mounted pressure on the army to release them because they were "ordinary citizens"

I hope you get the drift...

All the money that have been released so far to purchase equipments to fight boko haram, who squandered the money? Is it the boko haram sponsors that made our soldiers use AK47 guns to fight boko haram who have better weapons? Is it the boko haram sponsors that is responsible for the corruption in the military which has made boko haram have an upperhand by hoisting flags?

MrMcJay:

And these Ministers of Defence and NSA are PDP members, right?

No APC member has been linked to Boko Haram, right?

These Boko Haram sympathisers in Govt are PDP members, right?

GEJ said that Boko Haram members are in his government, right?

That means GEJ knows the BH members, right?

My simple question is "Why did GEJ as the Chief Security Officer of this Country do nothing to prosecute these sponsors of terrorism in the PDP?

Simple: it is because he is the commander in chief and doubles as the chief sponsor of the terror group!!!

I'm quite pleased with most of the comments on this thread!! Nigerians seem to be getting wiser by the day and are beginning to ask the right questions!!!

Ihejirika thought by simply making such a flippant remark, Nigerians would be sold to his dummy, but ooooh, he ddnt realise he got another thing coming!!

By the time this goes out to twitter and facebook, he would wish he never made this statement which clearly indicts him more than it does the intended accused!!!

Good one guys!! cool

That is why i shudder at the reasoning ability of some of the commenters here.....

If not that we have refused to use our God given reasoning abilities and have prefered to be blinded by hate and bigotry

"All what PDP and Jonathanians, recently SSS and now Azubuike Ihejirika have been telling us about the members of the opposition is that we know that they are Boko Haramist and are responsible for all the deaths so far recorded BUT we will not do anything about it or them"

And these are the kind of leaders Nigerians keep supporting and hailing them for their stooopidity and arrant recklessness with lives of the masses and dereliction of duty

I dont care about who El-Rufai is, neither do i want to know if Ihejirika ate chicken this morning at his house, what i am concerned about is for the ruling party to put an end to stupid divisive politicking that does no one any good by bringing to book whoever that is behind all of these needless wastages of lives and properties

Has it not occurred to anyone that the information he gathered may be from Nigerian sources and influenced by the views of mischief makers? Long before many Niralanders heard of this Australian fellow, they read on Nairaland people accusing all manner of Northern politicians of being sponsors of Bokoharam - from that Borno governor to Buhari. Just like many online media houses world-wide get their information on what is happening in the North East of Nigeria from Nigerians, isn't it likely that this guys views are influenced by Nigerians that work with him , guiding his investigations - if any- in the direction that they want.

Ihejerika is an igbo nationalist hell bent on disrupting the nigerian nation, of course he has the full support of GEJ who rules the nation on a trial by error basis. his decision making is based on how much ogogoro he has consumed for the day.

insiders in the presidency know he is a walking corpse and they are using him to hatch their own plans. a classic example is that eddiot called Obi former governor of anambra state. he is tapping all the opportunities while it is available. one by one, all the evil men behind boko haram will be revealed soon. shame on ihejirika and his cohorts

Sincere9gerian: So many ungrateful elements in this country. In sane societies, people like Ihejirika are celebrated. But not so in countries whose citizens pull in different directions like Nigeria.

How can we succeed at anything when there is no unity of purpose?

Meanwhile, now we know that efforts to procure more modern military hardware at the early stage of this war on Boko Haram was frustrated by Boko Haram sympathisers in govt. In the last 3 to 4 years, key security positions like minister of defense, national security adviser, etc have been in the hands of core northerners. What has been the contribution of these key security chiefs to the war against Boko Haram?

Just read over what you wrote again and see if you make any sense. So Boko Haram sympathisers were able to frustrate our duly elected president Jonathan, the minister of defence and all the military chiefs from procuring hardware to fight terrorism? If an El Rufai can frustrate the president and the entire Nigerian army from procuring needed equipment, then I think those calling the president clveless are right after all. Just imagine Obama telling Americans that sympathisers of Al queda or ISIS are frustrating his government from acquiring weapons to fight terrorism. Am sure the GOP will roast his balls the next day.

As for Ihejerika, he should bury his head in shame. An Army general that was frustrated by an ordinary civilian like El Rufai. Big shame on him.

Yes Ihejirika is the Boko Haram chief sponsor.

He collected Billions from the government to buy military equipment and hardware but instead diverted the money into Boko Haram activities by empowering them with sophisticated weapons.

Then (Ihejirika) with his ragtag and un- equipped Nigeria soldiers went up against his sponsored "foot soldiers", engaging and killing them in their numbers while el-rufai weep and complain.
