You weren't bothered about security when you were using it to make all your transactions I guess? So what makes this so different? I'm not of the opinion that MasterCard will compromise our data, however I feel it's of no significance implementing a payment function in the identity cards.

desmondoo: People don't understand why mastercard is involved on this. The reason is simply because of monetary transaction platform embeded in it. That's all. As for the identity database of nigerians, we run it, we manage it and we maitain it. This's a huge project which hav an imense benefit like in electorial process, revenue generation, crime reduction, banking transaction(mastercard comes in), travelling, etc. This wll make life easy in time to come.
