The last couple of days has been agog with sad, negative impression, fears in the Christian dome. Our ears has been filled with dramas, people condemning Nigerian men of God for living expensive and luxurious lives at the expense of their church members. Abeg make we leave the matter for another time.
Currently trending is the divorce news, or should I call it drama between renowned man of Gog, Founder and General overseer of Believers Loveworld, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and his delectable wife, Anita.
2010, it was on the news that there was a problem in their marriage which caused Pastor Chris to relocate to south Africa while his wife Anita moved to the U.K to head the church’s branches. All hopes by family, friends and close church members to bring them together has remained futile. I even read in a popular website that Pastor Chris’s father who happens to be a Pastor in Edo, was trying all he could to bring his son and Anita together again, but it wasn’t working. According to the news site, it was said that why Pastor Anita was being adamant on reconciling with Chris was because of his infidelity. It was reported that Pastor Chris’s dad has confirmed his son’s infidelity couple of times. He had once caught him with an unknown lady when he visited. The lady who is believed to be a minister in the church, Christ Embassy, and Pastor Chris were inside the his matrimonial house and on a compromising position. Pastor Chris had his head laid on the lady’s laps. That didn’t go well on the part of his dad. This as reported by the website
Last week, news sites, blogs and social media sites were agog with a fire breaking headline, that Pastor Anita had already filed for divorce in April in a notable court in the U.K due to irreconcilable differences and infidelity on the part of Pastor Chris.
It was reported in June that Pastor Chris accused his wife of following bad friends who is deceiving and influencing her.
But come to think of this, with the divorce proceedings going on, is this the end of Pastor Chris and Anita Oyakhilome’s Union? Is this the beginning of the end of the Oyakhilomes? Because as this events are ongoing, there church and its members surfers. No one is left out. What they have built for years, the people they have nurtured, spiritually, their kids, they all will surfer. Even the Christian dome, because so many have come to believe that Nigerian pastors don’t care about their members. They only care about their pockets. They don’t practice what they preach. This indeed will be a great prove, evidence to prove them right that most some Nigerian pastors don’t practice what they preach. While we are still waiting for the “robust reply” and getting pass it for the one that happened last year with a popular Abuja based pastor accused of sleeping with one of his members and other women in the church, the Oyakhilomes are now hitting us in our faces.It takes a million step to build a good reputation , But it takes one silly act to destroy everything. The last time I checked, marriage is for better or for worse and we should learn to forgive. Divorce is not supported. So why can’t the Oyakhilomes settle this. Pastor has always taught us to pray and ask God to take his place in our lives. He’s the only one that can solve our problems if we give him the chance. Can’t he solve this problem of the Oyakhilomes, or maybe they didn’t give him the chance?
Every day, it seems the ship is sinking more, the sore is becoming wide and the corruption spreading. We now read different twists and more fearful news about the Oyakhilome.Some days ago, it was discovered that Pastor Chris has removed every information about his wife, Anita from the church website. And some of us are still asking, which way for this family as the “irreconcilable differences” is becoming irreconcilable to them
Their two lovely daughters Charlene and Sharon Oyakhilome, who currently resides with their mom in the U.K, the lovely girls will become the children of a broken home if the court eventually dissolve their parents’ marriage.
As we are trying to digest the Pastor Chris and Anita Oyakhilome’s issue, we read in the news again that one of Pastor Chris’s cousin, Pastor Ken Oyakhilome got a South African lady pregnant and made her abort the child. If this is true, which way the Oyakhilomes. Practice what you preach ooooooo. Practice it very well. So many people are coming up on social media platforms, expressing their displeasure and accusing some of the Christ Embassy pastors of sleeping with Church ministers and random women in the church.

Well, I rest my matter here. I know God in Heaven is watching and we are praying for the Oyakhilomes to pull through this.
