Cesc Fabregas was the surprise signing of the window as Arsenal refused to match the Blues' bid and bring him back to The Emirates.

The Spaniard left the Gunners to join Barcelona and revealed that Arsenal had no interest activating a clause which meant they could have re-signed him for £30m. Chelsea stepped in and it's already looking like shrewd business for the Blues.
