kmariko: Mi-35 Vs Mi-28 iterator25: ode, you don't supply aircraft to your clients without testing Well, since the both of you are stark illiterates, like majority of Nigerians, and reading and comprehension problems are obviously the bane of the people in that country, I'll break it down for you lot. Mi-35 (whatever variant it's) is the export version of the Russian Mi-24, which is actually the first hind ground attack helicopter Russia ever built. And it was introduced in to service in the 1970s. Mi-24 HIND and Mi-35M ^^^With the above, anyone who can read should be able to decipher that the Mi-35 isn't a new generation helicopter. |
Re: Nigerian Air Force Begin Taking Delivery Of State-of-the-art Mi35m Helicopters by shymmmex: 12:58pm On Sep 10, 2014 |
However, Mi-28 is the newest attack helicopter in the Russian inventory, comparable and might even be more effective and cheaper than the American Apache. And it was built to replace the Mi-24/Mi-35(which is the export variant of Mi-24). Thank me later, illiterates. |

When will the pilots be trained to expertly maneuver the chopper? One hope for now they start with night missions to completely be invisible to the Boko haram fighters and spotters until such a time when it is comfortable to conduct daylight missions as pilots master their machines |

Variants.. a form or version of something that differs in some respect from other forms of the same thing or from a standard. Meaning that the Avionics of the M.35 a newer "variant" which entered operation in 2010 must be different. The relationship might be merely the form but the function and capacity is different. The Boeing 777 that entered service in 1979 has many variants that are among the most modern long hauls today ...does mean that its technology is still 1979. |

1st Mission: Fly in at night and take out all Boko Haram heavy weapons such as tanks, anti-aircraft guns mounted on pickup trucks 2nd Mission: Begin to relentlessly hunt Boko Haram terrorists at night when they expect to be relaxing and using the captured women as s.ex slaves. Let them stay busy every night trying to evade the choppers than molesting captured girls. 1 Like |

Now, you're shifting goal post. I thought you said it's a new helicopter that was introduced into service in 2005, and far newer and more effective than Mi-28, no? - laughable. See the problem with stark illiterates is that: they always look to shift the goalpost whenever the ignorant tripe they're spewing everywhere are exposed. No sane person will ever compare Mi-35 to Mi-28 havoc...Mi-28 is like the most lethal attack helicopter out there. Heck, the Mi-35 has been phased in a lot of countries because it's not suitable to modern warfare, and it can be shot down easily with manpads. The Ukraine rebels have already shot down more than 20 Mi-35s in the last 3-4 months. When I talk about military hardware, shut ya pie-hole and listen next time. Nigeria has more than 10 Mi-35s, what happened to those ones? And why can't they buy the more effective ones, Mi-28, rather than go back to an aircraft the country already has? Yet they keep spewing nonsense about modernising an obsolete military that isn't even top-10 in Africa, in terms of effectiveness. So much for the giant of Africa. Anyway, I won't be surprised if they were to replace the obsolete alpha jets, with more obsolete alpha jets. Ditto the rubbish Chengdu J-7, the flying coffin they've got. Utterly corrupt souls. Other countries in Africa have left you lot behind. |
Re: Nigerian Air Force Begin Taking Delivery Of State-of-the-art Mi35m Helicopters by kmariko: 2:33pm On Sep 10, 2014 |
The elucidation is to use your point of view to show that variation does not mean old.... At the same time mi.35 as far as am concerned is much newer than the mi.28 in terms of when they entered service irrespective of whether they are direct descendants of Sikorsky. Again comparing modern aircraft goes beyond form... the last few posts showed a little comparison between the two. Question is from military perspective as concerns the country which is much more suitable considering other factors. thanks and be well 2 Likes |

I fear for this country always celebrating mediocrity , why celebrate an attack copter we already have in service , those things are sitting ducks for shoulder fired ground to air ordance and even the anti aircraft guns I see boko mounting on toyoyta trucks .. |

And they'll write 'state of the art' even if its an old WW2 frigate given to the NN by the US. As at 2002 i saw this same model at the airforce base in Kaduna Is someone deliberately shortchanging this country by purchasing outdated military hardwares and passing it off as 'State of the art' |

I also never knew you existed. Evidently, you're stuck on seeking my attention - can you fvck off now, and go find something you eat before you die, you dirty scum? Nah, I'm smacking disrespectful and illiterate plonkers, with the medieval mentality. A mentality I abhor because of its primitiveness. This is the 21st century - and smacking a primitive illiterate is accepted. Last post to you, phaggot. No time for inconsequential time wasters stuck in a village with primeval mentality. |

Missy89: Why is the DHQ still buying Mi35? If Gabon likes let it have Apache! We are happy about our MI 35. I hope the pilots to fly them are dedicated and well trained so that they won't just waste their ordinance or worse still, fly the bird and land it where BH can capture it! The issue here is not the model, it is about having the right tool to get the job done. If Nigeria needs to bomb people well camouflaged and defended at a mountain, you need aircrafts to get to them not tanks and AK 47s. Apart from providing useful air support for our soldiers pinned down by BH, from the crazy use of jets that drop their bombs 3 km away from where they are needed because of poor tageting instruments on our Alpha jets. Acquiring these helicopters will enable NA to take the fight to BH at a place and time of its choice. Than to always wait for a typical ineffective fire brigade approach each time BH takes a town like Bama or Gwoza. BH should not dictate where and how NA should fight. 2 Likes |

No rebels are capturing territories in Kenya to create a 'caliphate' like in Naija, while the soldiers flee for their lives on foot, abandoning their vehicles and weapons.
