Sammy Gyang is an established figure within the Nigeria music industry with a reputation for delivering high quality music in a variety of different roles that include: music producer, music director, sound engineer, songwriter, singer, music teacher and virtuoso pianist.
Sammy is from Jos South LGA, Plateau state. Born to the family of late Evangelist Gyang Luke Dung. He is also a brother to Multi-award winning musician "Jeremiah Gyang". He started his musical trade from the church choir, playing his favourite instrument “the piano” and singing.
Sammy Gyang began his career in the music industry at the age of 14, when he started production with mentorship from his elder brother, Jeremiah Gyang.
He is Ice Prince's music director and in-house producer/engineer, and also Jeremiah Gyang's music director.
Sammy Gyang has produced and is currently working with popular artistes such as Asa, M.I. , Sunny Nneji, Ruby Gyang, DICE, Davido, Ikechukwu aka Killz, Eva Alodiah, Iyanya , Dj Xclusive , Dj Caise , Praiz, Zaina, Gina, Waje, Styl-Plus, Tiwa Savage, KIN etc.
Sammy Gyang has continued to produce and record with mainstream international artists including Stanley Enow (Cameroun) – MTV MAMA and AFRIMMA 2014 winner, The Dogg (Namibia) and Victoria Kimani (Kenya) while also developing his reputation as a composer of music for TV, Radio & advertising.
Sammy Gyang has worked at the Sheraton Abuja Hotel from 2002 to 2011 as an Entertainment Contractor.
He also performed with his live band at exclusive events at the US Embassy, French Cultural Centre, Spanish Embassy, British Council and Julius Berger PLC amongst others in Nigeria. Sammy Gyang still performs with Jeremiah Gyang and his live band.
With a great ear for good music, Sammy Gyang has served as a Judge for Reality TV Shows like West African Idols 2007 (Abuja audition) and Star Quest 2006 and 2007 editions (Lagos, Abuja and Jos auditions).
