The litigation between LADOL & TOTAL/SAMSUNG on EGINA FPSO has been resolved & I was informed that recruitment process is about kick starting? How true is this? I tried googling about the project, couldn't get much?

Anybody with info? I'm particularly interested on the client side(TOTAL) than that of the contractors

They have been recruiting even before this time that the litigation is over. Total usually source their manpower through approved agents for that project and these agents' contacts are not usually in the public domain. However, if you make more enquiry and contact, you may get it.

Yes o. There are IOTA group, Brunne, Schemteq, Perfect facilities if I can remember. One need to link up with these recruiters before ur CV may be considered or an insider link. However, there is no mago mago. You must have the requisite experience and certifications.

You seem to be knowledgeable about the whole thing, do you know the stage they are at now? I mean construction wise or are they still at the design stage?

has the work stage gotten to where my services as an instrument engr will be needed.

Fabrication and construction stage is starting up now. Instrument engrs mainly have much work during the intermediate, pre-comm and commissioning stages. That does not mean they are not on ground during construction stage.

@atobz, whats the INTERTEK, NES recruitment process like? do they do interviews after cv submissions or just place u at once? i have an msc in instruments and control systems plus some years of experience working as an Electrical and Telecoms person(6yrs in all). what do u think my chances are to be taken for such a project, thanks as u reply. you could email me on simult22@yahoo.com

@Chairman1. My most recent experience is with Intertek (used to be Moody International) so I'll base my comment on that. The process is typically a function of the requirements of the client (company/project they are sourcing personnel for),so it varies. I didn't know Intertek till I in fact got a contract from them.In my case,the company I worked for simply preferred to hire through a manpower service coy (and Intertek was a preference). This is a risk strategy most companies now adopt lately to limit their risk exposure should it become necessary to take business decisions that will affect personnel.
While I'll say you've got a good chance of getting recommended for a position,it will be unfair not to add that there a lot of candidates with double your experience either currently out of job/project or considering a change/swap to another job/project. In my experience with these companies,they maintain a database of CVs and profiles of candidates that they have either previously placed on projects or even placed by other manpower services providers.So,the point here is- its a step forward for these guys to at least have your profile. A good way to do this is to apply for positions advertised by them ( I can recommend a list) regardless of how qualified you are for the position-If you are not,they simply wont consider you for that position but will likely retain your profile for future positions (you'll be surprised they can contact you to ask if you'll be interested in a position).
