Building A Static Website With Java: How Possible? by Sibrah: 10:35pm On Sep 12, 2014
Fellow Web Programming NLders,
I have been thinking about the possibility of building static websites with popular Languages IDE environment that support web UI component graphical editing.
Example is a java Editor say Netbeans or the good old Java Studio Creator that allows you quickly create ui look to say. 80% of your satisfaction. Is this feat possible for plain and simple static web that display nothing but info (Pictures (galleries), Videos,Texts, and Flash)? If yes, in which of the Language and IDE/Plugins?
Thanks.

static vs dynamic has nothing to do with language used but what the website is actually doing. So for example, if you have a, say, 5-page website viz: home, about, services, contact and products and all that is on these pages is text, with no interaction with, say, a database server, then even if you wrote it in a language yet to be developed, it is a static website.

On the other hand, if you have a website that, say, displays a list of products from a database, which means each time you click a product, the site talks to a database to get details about the product, now you are talking a dynamic website.

You can use any editor from notepad to netbeans, etc etc to create any website, static or dynamic.

Good luck!
