I dont believe you, period. There's no point lying here. I have been through that route and beyond (to Kano and back) several times. No way can anyone make it to Kaduna from Abuja in just 1hour.

It is not possible. That road is not less than 200km. So let's say u are doing 200km/hr (which is very unlikely). Does that mean u can maintain 200km/hr for a whole hour? I'm not saying it's not possible to to 200km/hr on that road but its not possible to maintain it for even 20 mins. There are corners, vehicles in front of u that will make u step on ur brake, etc.

I've driven a friend's E55 AMG from Abuja to Kaduna on a very fine morning this year in less than 1 hour, about 57minutes. Traffic was light and the demon in that car was really angry and growling sweet music notes in my ears via the exhausts and sharp handling.

You also need to see what those vectra, honda, peugeot and opel guys do behind the wheels when plying that road.

Coming from you, i rest my case then. You must have been doing atleast 200km/hr continously and with the light traffic to your advantage.

Apart from that, the Big V8 turbo German muscle car was really into its own, and Mike was in the mood. I fell in love with that piece of car but I had to climb down from my high horse when my friend told me the Amount he bought that car and how much time and cash he spend to maintain it.

I once left Enugu around 7am and got to Lokoja around 9.30am. This is highway that on average takes about 5 hours. Anyone conversant with that road would understand what I mean by getting to Lokoja from Enugu at that hour at the time I started the journey.

It all depends on "how the thing dey do you" behind the wheel and what you are driving. I don't like boasting with the kind of aggressive driving I do with my Lions on journeys, because its not something one should be proud of or encourage others to do.

Following the now famous jere-bwari route should be less than 200 km (183 km by Google map). Once again, I don't have any proof cos I didn't reset and note down my odometer.

Made it all the way from uyo to ikot abasi to port harcourt to yenegoa to warri to auchi then i entered a pothole and it took away 2 tires and 1 rim at 7.30pm.

Mileage readout at point of tires bursting was 149223. Meaning i had done 149223 minus 148072 = 350 miles or 563km.

I left uyo at 10.45 suffered 2 police stops that took 1hr 30 mins out of my driving time.

So am staying over at auchi and will complete the journey tomorrow morning

If you go through the new Bwari shortcut, and remove traffic on the entire stretch of road, YES Kaduna to Abuja is possible in One hour. Last year in a chartered vehicle (a passat wagon) and from the beginning of the Kaduna end of the expressway to Bwari town was approximately 1 hr 20mins...

so YES it is possible

I was expecting you to go back to Abia from PH but Warri is an extra atleast 100km more.

studying google maps indicates i shd have gone through Abia, but i was so scared of my experience on the way to akwa ibom.
My two tires went bad, will post the pics later. It destroyed a steel rim but the alloy wasnt. miracle.

They have got very good roads in delta.

I have driven lagos to benin from 4pm to 7.20pm but the road is much better.

Its extremely risky to drive in at night in a pothole infested road.

3 seconds distraction made me get into that mighty pothole

PH-Umuahia is better than Umuahia-Okigwe. So Umuahia-Okigwe would have been the only bad spot with just very few on the PH road. The total distance would have been better.

However, its a good experience to follow some unfamiliar roads. I'd love to try the road one day and have a sleep over at my friends place in Warri. Waiting for your update.

Google maps is an important tool for all my journeys. My first trip to Uyo from Jos was aided by googles maps without asking for directions from strangers after getting route confirmation from commercial drivers at the parks.

You are one of those who likes to be on the fast lane.

What brand of car did you use to achieve this?
