Hi Doc. Please my dads eyes seems not be improving as expected. The eyes blinks (have reduced now), a little swollen and visibility is reducing, they say it is cataracts.

He has been taking an eye antioxidants and Hypamelose Eye Drops prescribed and given at Ancilia Catholic Eye Centre, Iju Agege!

Is there any other hospital you can recommend we try? Or other products even herbal too?

Thanks for your response in advance.
Regards,

Regards,
who said he has cataract? if he is diagnosed of cataract, d doctor should recommend him for cataract extraction. d hypomellose is just an eye lubricant probably ur dad is having a dry eye. antioxidants re good for the eyes but it doesn't cure cataract. d cure for cataract is surgery. sorry for responding dis late. pls mention me nxt time so i get notified my attention is needed....hope this helps

eye foundation lagos
Good morning sir, there was a time I told you that things appear blury on my right eye and I told you that I'm shortsighted on the left eye and if i could remove it through surgery. You referred me to eye foundation.

I went to the hospital Last month and the optician there told me that my eye pressure is high. my left eye is 24% while the right is 30.They told me that I'm to run 4 different tests and the total amount for the test is 140k. since then I've not gone back. The truth is that I can't afford it, if I'm to pay 140k for ordinary test then surgery will be up to 700k.

sir even if i want to go along and do the surgery to reduce my eye pressure, will i see clearly before may? because I'm planning on joining the military and they're going to do eye test

my dear it's very important u pay attention to ur eye health as d condition u re hving could cause u irreversible blindness if left unattended to. surgery is usually d last option depending on the extent of damage to ur eye nerves or if drug fails to bring down the pressure to d point where there wouldnt be further damage to the eye or d type of glaucoma...most likely drugs wld be used as first line management ....d test re needed to know d extent of damage nd for monitoring if therez progression of the condition. i m nt trying to scare u o but it's important u attend to it in tym as it's smtin u tk serious. discus wit d doc d cost challenge nd ask him giv u options so u cn start treatment asap. another option is to use the general hospital or military hospital i guess their services wld be cheaper ...best wishes...sorry fr d long write

i cant reconmend drugs online..u musnt wait until to return to lagos. go to an eye clinic or use d govt hospital there . what u re havin is usually symptomless. u feel u can see but u may b going blind gradually. yes ur vision could improve if u re havin a refractive error and is corrected wit glasses or contact lenses. but managing ur eye presure shld b of more concern to u .

depends on the cause of d reduced vision. if it's mainly as a result of refractive error, it will be improved as long as u re having ur glasses on.

Thanks for the response. They have not formally mentioned it is cataract anyway! It is more of the dry eyes. The hypomellose eye drops have not really improved his condition too as the eyes swell and he can't see very good again. Which other eye hospital will you recommend for a second opinion?

u could take him back to your previous doctor and xplain the current situation to him xo he could possibly carry out more investigation on the likely cause of the reducing vision and if he doesn't yet come up wit smtin, u cld seek help else where. Which state do u reside ?

Please i have this boil on my eyelid which has refused to go for more than a year now, iv had a similar thing before but with time it got filled with pus which was removed but it did not leave totally because it left a tiny seed like residue which was not visible though and i believe that's how it came back and this time around some drugs were recommended and that's how it got stuck for a year and a half now, no pains at all just hard seed on the top eyelid. The ophthalmologist here recommended i go to a specialist to have it punctured, but i don't see that as an option. Please any good drug you can recommend. Thanks

you are possibly having a chalazion . it's not usually a thing for concern except for cosmetic reasons on when it's affecting vision by inducing astigmatism. you can visit the hospital to have it excised. A type of injection could be administered but it doesn't work in all cases. removing it by surgery is d usual practice.

My dad is still being given the Hypamelose Eye Drops and Eye Antioxidants..... It has not really helped as the vision has not really improved and the swell is still there! I reside in Lagos, please help to recommend another eye clinic apart from the Catholic Ancilia Hospital, Agege, Lagos that we use.

please do wel to visit an eyeclinic. having to luk directly at bright light sources could damage your eyes. After examining you , your doctor would give u glasses to make u more comfortable around light sources

that's most likely caused by a refractive error. glasses would help u so u don't have to strain when looking at objects
