Nigerian Music Fans: Hard To Please? by sopoundz(m): 12:23am On Sep 15, 2014
ok I've bin underground trying to hit d heights in d music business but it has not bin favourable or smooth. I was in studio one day n I got inspired to do a song to give out hope to people who suffer from domestic violence. when I was done, I decided to promote the song buh d reception I got was nt what I expected. some promoters were like "ah bros! this yur song nice o! buh I no sure say nigerians go listen lyrics, u no gt dancehall music?" anoda was like "ah! bros as an upcomer e go hard u o! go do video to promote yurself cuz dem go boo u comot stage wit songs like diz" disappointed as I was, I tried changn my pattern but d whole dance hall doesnt fit style. so I kept wondering if I am the problem? should I change my style to appease d fans? should I kip on doing wah I know how to do n hope d fans would show appreciation?

Mmmm..... Your song is mostly rap. It okay but you know that most nigerians don't really care about the lyrics. I personally prefer listening to the lyrics of a song first before I sing nonsense. Another thing is that the music industry itself is very competitive, producers and sponsors are looking for someone who would come up with any kinda song that would bring a lot of fans. We have people who listen to rap but I don't think they as much as people who listen to all this them Davido and wizzy group.

Be good at what you do first. It'll only take one person, producer or sponsor to appreciate you and within a snap of the finger u'll be given all the support to explore your full talent.First is to be really good at whatever you do now,if you force a change, there are chances that u'll flop.Korede bello was a good soul artist when don jazzy discovered him.
