safarigirl: Which kain minu dey man their accounting books? Sack whoever is in chanrge of finane first of all, then hire a competent person that can do serious damage control. Babe, if I may, You are wrong, the state is run in such a way where the governor spends money at will, its not the fault of those in finance, but it's good they discovered early. For me its better than heaping debts like Lagos state. the only issue in akwa ibom is that 80% of the projects will not generate sustainable employment. Most projects are infrastructure not human development That's the main problem, unlike Lagos, the projects they embark is creating permanent jobs and generating funds to the government. Lagos state will now reinvest the funds or service their debts from the funds generate. 4 Likes |

rozayx5:loans that have been certified healthy for the state by professional economists. Akpabio has been managing 4million people with over 200B fg allocation yearly. Fashola has managed a population of 18million people with just a little over 160B fg allocation. 16 Likes |

The governor should be jailed if it is true Every good state government desire to transform their states into a mini America. This causing them to build beautiful infrastructure as fulfilment of their dream But one challenge we face is in balancing infrastructural development and financial empowerment of indigenes with limited resources. SOLUTION TO THIS DILEMMA 1) Invest in profitable ventures and infrastructures first then 2) Use the profits and low taxes to obtain and clear loans for infrastructures that generate little or no income. Eg Schools Hospitals Stadiums Roads Bridges etc. " Prepare your fields(assets) first after that build your house(liability) " PROVERBS 24: 27 Asset which is what puts money into your pocket should come first before liability which is what takes away money from your pocket For every liability built, they should be assets whose incomes can sustain it The Stadium which profitable ventures are sustaining its maintenance and loan if it was built with borrowed money Likewise other infrastructures Akwa Ibom govt you failed in this aspect. 6 Likes 1 Share |

You guys should make constructive argument, leave political bias out of this, The funds are just mismanaged. It doesn't mean the state is broke. Don't forget 2015 is near, they have to cut costs and prepare for election |

chinasaekperem: why are you lying, alimosho LGA is 1million+ and akwa ibom has population of about 5million people. Quit lying to make your point.Shinasa you know not what you are saying. Alimosho local government, the largest local government in Lagos has a population of 1million? WTF? What do you then make of relatively smaller local governments like Mushin or Surulere? Ejigbo local government development council which is just one of the many LCDA under Alimosho local government has a population in the excess of 200,000. Akpabio will be better off as a local government chairman if he was in Lagos 9 Likes |

The state remains the best in terms of infrastructural development. their roads are world class; their air port is highly sophiscated; their stadiun, when completed will relieve us the shamefulness of 1915's stadiums. And they are only broke, and not in debt mess (like Lagos). kudos to Akpobio jare 5 Likes |
