How Can I Help This Applicant???? by moscobabs(m): 11:28am On Sep 18, 2014
I got this letter today from a CTI applicant we rejected on the basis of his GPA.

Dear sir,
I hope this message meets you in good faith.
I am [redacted], one of those invited for the CTI Software
Engineering Scholarship Interview which was held yesterday 17th of
September, 2014.

Firstly, I would like to thank you for granting me the opportunity to
meet with you in person. You were more easy and flexible than I had
expected.

Secondly, I would like to express my feelings over my encounter with
you. I believe every man should be given a fair chance to prove
himself. I might have made a 2:2 but that doesn't mean my brain can't
work in a first class orientation. I have achieved a lot both as an
undergraduate and graduate which is evident in my CV. I have made
impacts to the society, leaving every position I find myself better
than I met it.

We are in an era when a lot of students buy their way to making good
grades, resulting in a society of incompetent personnel. I believe
that I can stand up to any student regardless his class or grade, all
I ask for is that opportunity to prove it. Put us all on a level
ground and let's see who reaches the mountain peak first.

"At CTI, we offer a free space for a community of motivated learners
to acquire new technology and critical thinking skills..."
The above quote was what motivated me to apply for the CTI
Scholarship. I am a highly self motivated individual who possess
creative writing experience and basic research skills, strong
interpersonal and analytical skills. I can be flexible when it comes
to my work environment. My ability to learn quickly has assisted me to
adapt to most environment easily. I do not believe that I must possess
the highest grades before I can partake in the CTI scholarship but,
the ability to think creatively and a strong disposition toward
building things. I see the scholarship as an opportunity to broaden my
knowledge and acquire new skills. I believe I am the ideal candidate
for a CTI scholarship. .

My goal is to become a first rate researcher in the field of SWE and
Computational Mathematics. I hope to become a Professor in the nearest
future. I see it as an opportunity to impart on others and give back
to the society just as CTI is doing with the scholarship program. I
strongly believe that at the CTI, I will be able to build a career and
achieve my goals as well as contribute immensely to the research
community.

I hope I would have the honor to learn from great scholars like you, a
leading Technology entrepreneur as well as CTI fellows like [redacted],
who have made an impact in the society.
I hope you would consider my application and grant me the opportunity
to prove myself worthy. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you
for the audience.

MOD..pls help me forward this to the right location
Thanks
