It's almost a week now since the lights/power in most parts of Abuja went off. This is unlike the normal situation. We have been in total darkeness since then.

Some said the power sub station exploded, others said a certain key part of the generator got spoilt. So many tales on this situation.

What's the light situation in your area Abuja residents?

Yenagoa, Bayelsa State has never enjoyed electricity for years now.
It seems the city is virtually cut-off from the National Grid.

Its been like that for the past few days(garki). In all all my 15+ years here,i can count on one hand how many occasions we've experience protracted power cuts like this one. Not something I've ever experienced here. Anyway it shouldn't come as a surprise...

Dear OP

It was reported on Tuesday NTA news that lightening struck the apo substation, so areas which that substation serve has been in total blackout since then including where I stay.

Minister of power yesterday visited the substation and said the engineers promised to finish it soonest. The soonest is what we don't know.

To worsen the situation is that there's no fuel in town to run generator.
