One of the most recognized faculty in the world is the
faculty of engineering, which wikipedia defined as the
application of scientific, economic, social, and practical
knowledge in order to invent, design, build, maintain, and
improve structures, machines, devices, systems, materials
and processes.
Oh yeah, you’re starting to stare and wonder, common
keep calm! Right from where campus evolved (the medieval
European universities where the students and teachers
lived and worked together in a cloistered environment),
the buildings were erected by engineers. Regardless of
their level of education, That’s engineering !
Take a closer look at your campus, Don’t you enjoy those
electrical appliances? You starch your shirts, won’t you
iron it? Most of you read in school overnight just
because of electric power. Won’t you use projector?
Won’t you use public address system? Won’t you charge
your phones, tablets and/or laptops? Guys, won’t you
cook beans? That’s engineering !
Don’t you like those structures? Ranging from the
administrative buildings to the toilets, the arrangement of
those seats in the lecture halls, the smoothness of that
road. That’s engineering !
Don’t you adore those machines? The ease of
transportation, that generator when there’s absence of
power supply. That’s engineering !
Don’t you cherish the internet? Oh, that answer is
glaring since you’re reading this post. That’s engineering !
Don’t you like the ease engineering has dished out to
farming? How can you read without a satisfied belly?
That’s engineering !
Just talk of that department on campus that doesn’t
rely on engineering, Yes! quote me well- No engineering, No
campus!
