It 's called evolution and it is either you are part of it or you are not !!
There is nothing we can do about moral decadence in the society , the world is tending towards FREEDOM for all !!

U call it Nonsense? How are u concern about our growing kid if they keep watching those things? The post makes lots of sense. Entertainment industry is a big mess.. Most of them are rated +18 and kids show is fading out. Let's blow the trumpet jor.

The truth of the matter is that a change can even start with you.

bushdoc9919: I am of two minds about this.

On the one hand, even at my age, I find a movie filled with too much rule 34 like things uncomfortable.(Life is not all about following rule 34 to the letter).

On the other hand, movies are supposed to be a reflection of real life. And in real life, people do dirty things.

Oh well, if you do not want to watch it...switch the channel. Or set up a film making corporation that would make decent but imaginative films and series.

I think the op is trying to appeal for a clear border line or distinction btw home and indecency movies, for the sake of kids and our collective safety. Come to think of it, if all movie are infused with indecency, there won't be any one for the kids to watch and learn moral lessons

Agreed...though some people's definition of indecency in film differs from some other people's definition.

Op. please give me your own definition of unclothness and indecency.. The last I remembered people have the choice to turn off their TV. Parents have the right and option to control what their kids watch on TV. Media/ social media is a platform of freedom.

Say for example,Nigeria movies are ban because people like you, feels its too corrupt, my Nigerian people will switch to western movies, which is even more corrupt. However you choose to see it, Nigeria movie is trying to give their product a name, so that people will not call it anything.

There are more pressing issues going on in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. This your Nigeria movie critic thing is not even among the least of the bigger issues facing Nigeria... Make we talk another thing Abeg.. smiley

I'm pretty sure I'll be disappointed by the low level of nudi.ty the op keeps complaining about in these movies. Nigerian and Ghanian movies have a long way to go in making beautiful movies that reflect our lives(warts and all) so i really don't know what mr op is yacking about. There's not enough nu'dity/hotness for my tastes in home videos. Morality does not determine winners, our pockets do. The moment people decide to stop paying for those movies, producers would stop making/financing them, simple as that. Till then stop complaining about what u dont understand and let the market(supply/demand) do its job. You can vent ur frustration at the censors board or ignorant parents who don't understand how to configure parental controls on theire decoders grin grin grin

@ OP...

You just increased the sale of those unclothed films you mentioned...

The producers owe you for the unsolicited publicity...

You're obviously not meant to be reviewing movies. You need an open mind for this kind of job. I see nothing wrong with it, as far as the movie comes with the appropriate rating.

I agree. Take the Bollywood for example. They are able to capture love, romance and promiscuity in their movies by just dialogues, songs and expressions. Some of the greatest love stories in the Indian Movie industry didn't have a shred of nudity, and hollywood classics like 'Gone with the wind' and 'Titanic' didn't have nudity(with the exception of the portrait scene with Jack and Rose), so I wonder why Nigerians now feel that if they don't kiss like it is going out of fashion, bounce around and hump on the bed and growl like beasts, they won't pass along the intended message.

Truth is what we see now in the entertainment industry is a mirror reflection of contemporary society. Virtue and morality have gone down have been thrown to the wild pigs. Let's face it, shameful as it is, sex sells.

u nailed it....u hardly see 2 adults making out in an indian movie yet d movie passes across its message perfectly well, and when u talk about romantic movies if u dnt mention bollywood den u havent started.
Nollywood has sold its values and jx want to be like hollywood.most times d sex scenes ain't really that necessary

It all depends on the scripting, storyboarding and casting. Hollywood has 100 times more n.udity than Nollywood will ever get away with, but there is actually a storyline and proper casting and trained actors and actresses.

A lot of Nollywood movies are written in 2 days by the director to save money, and he also does the storyboarding and casting and for budgetary reasons, he prefers to find one university dropout who will accept N50,000 to act a role than a proper professional.

So whatever n.udity or s.exual content in that movie will just be gratuitous and surplus to the (weak) storyline.

And of course Hollywood has an actual por.no industry so people who just want to watch sexx can purchase adult DVDs legitimately. That removes the market for mainstream movies to add unecessary sex scenes because anyone who will watch a movie to see sex or naked women will rather just buy an actual por.no dvd.

In Nigeria we like to pretend unecessarily about this issue. S.ex is a normal part of human life like sleeping or taking a crap in the toilet, it's nothing to hide from as if it's dirty. The God wey una dey always carry for head, it's him that created se.x abi no be so?

taiwoawoniyi: I and one of my friend was discussing this topic today. The degradation of morals in our generation is getting worse each passing day. I mean, there are creative ways of depicting 'love-making' than showing or acting hardcore sex. And even our music videos are something that can and would easily influence our younger and upcoming generation. The NBC should take more cognizance of very offensive movies and ban or censor them before they hit the markets. Shalom
hm!
You v said it all.
Whenever I see teens arguing about the lastest top music, they ll mention names like Davido, Wizkid, Olamide etc. When I tell them that this song is good & that is not, they tell me that do I know that song fetched the artiste numerous awards?
I ll now be like is this world crazy?
Are there no more sane people, sane award body?
What the hell is worth celebrating in such songs.
Then I realised how sick the world is.
Nudity, unecessary violence, unexplained wealth, unseriousness, excess clubbing, hooliganism etc are embedded in our movies & music.
I rest my calligraphy pen
