This is quite long but I think it's worth reading.

Your friend gets more hits from guys than you do. You get jealous when she comes back with lots of gifts. The money never stops rolling in. You wonder what could be wrong. You look into the mirror every now and then, the mirror reassures you you're beautiful in your own little way.

You're not still satisfied, all of a sudden, like a pastor on pulpit, rhema comes- not from God this time. Your friend is fair, you're chocolate, perhaps dark. Like a gambler who just hit a jackpot, you smile to yourself.

You hop off to the mall to change your cream, those creams aren't scarce, in fact, they make up a large percentage of the creams in the mall. How you never came across them remains a mystery to you.

You start using the cream, some of your friends innocently start telling you you're now getting fairer. You shrug them off most times, other times, you get mad at the friend, it all depends on your mood.

Now the cream has finally worked. You're looking very fair, even fairer than your friend. The joints remain dark however- the ones on your wrist, knee and even the ones on your fingers and toes.

Guys start hitting on you, the responsible ones look at you, feeling of disgust overwhelms them. Some of them even feel like throwing up each time they see you. They wonder how any sane man manages to sleep with you.

The ones who hit on you start taking you out, buying gifts for you just like your friend. Now it feels like you're on top of the world. All of a sudden, the first one dumps you after sleeping with you, the next one does the same.

You start discovering it wasn't all that rosy for your friend as she made it seem. She must have hidden that part from you. You wished you never started using the cream. At least, you had rest of mind. Now its from one emotional turmoil to another.

Time is no longer on your side, you have to settle down. No one who is serious is forthcoming. Still the same set of dudes who shower you with gifts and money only to use and dump you. The gifts no longer give you joy.

Just then, another friend is getting jealous of the gifts and money. Perhaps, she asks you the cream you're using, you know where she's going.

How I wish this girl never bleaches her skin, you say to your self.
