Sincere9gerian: People do make genuine mistakes, sometimes out of over-zealousness and trying to impress their paymaster. Just that in this digital age and in the current politically charged atmosphere in Nigeria, every issue tend to be magnified 100 times and dissected 100%. 99% of those posting judgemental and senseless comments on this thread do not have upto 10% of the competence of the names mentioned by the OP in real life. Abati for instance is one of the best in his field, atleast in Nigeria.
That is why I am suspecting this is more of sabotage than anything else.
That Modu Sheriff pic for instance, I cannot imagine he didn't know the repercussions of posting such a pic at the time he did.

This is a horrible blunder from Defence spox.
How did he get to make the false press release?
I guess he is in Abuja. How did he get info that the Chibok girls have been released in Maiduguri?

Did someone in Maiduguri give him a call with incorrect or incomplete information?

Something fishy is really going on.
A)Just this week, CNN or whatever reported the ICRC was negotiating for the release of the girls.

B)First it was 30 girls for 30 terrorists

C)then Yarlan Mallam decided to release all the Chibok girls

D)Then 4 sick Chibok girls were purported to be released

E)Then two busloads of Chibok girls drove into Maimalari barracks!

Jubilation galore!
Skeptics like me wanted to confirm the identity of the girls with the WAEC list in public space.
the jubilation and skepticism has been overtaken by events.

I know that Shettima has sent about 500 girls to study medicine in Sudan
(that was where he was when Yarlan Mallam declared Gwoza Caliphate),

1) Has the Borno state government been in continous custody of the escapee Chibok girls?
havent they been allowed to rejoin their families since all this started?

2) when did Borno state government reassemble them for this transport to Kaduna schools
(Kaduna is another hot spot anyway and I bet they did get kidnapped again there).

3)Which soldiers provided escort for the escapee Chibok girls such that DHQ did not know of such movement?

Okay, let's agree for once that these people stylishly work against their pay master but can you tell us why GEJ if he is not so clueless hasn't sacked Olukolade for instance?

The tw*t has made 2 very sackable statements in less than 6 months and he is still allowed to continue his job.

Don't try to fool us by making GEJ look like a saint, he is not. His administration has shown itself to be perfect in shielding corrupt and incompetent people.

If any of the aides of the president is double dealing or a mole, the president has enough tools to identify such person and, as a politician, he would not hesitate to fire such individual.

If you keep sacking everyone who errs around you, then you'll soon be on your own because to err is human.
@bold,you are also guilty. Infact, you are one of those who make Jonathan look clueless on nairaland and it seems you have no idea the damage you have caused to him on this forum. All of you should be ashamed of yourselves especially you Ifeanyichukwu!

I have seen observed some possibly intentional gaffes in recent times that have contributed in no small way in making the present government look clueless and confused in some quarters - strangely by people who are heavily paid to do the complete opposite.

1. General Olukolade announced in April that the Chibok girls have been rescued by the military only to retract the statement after it was proven to be outrightly false.

2. Reuben Abati tweeted a picture of soldiers supposedly in Sambisa forest trying to rescue the Chibok girls, the picture had been in circulation long before the girls were kidnapped. He put up some very weak defences after being called out to that effect.

3. Doyin Okupe repeatedly tweeted a bringbackourgoodluck2015 hashtag, a frankly ill-conceived idea.

4. Reuben Abati tweeted a picture of President Jonathan being welcomed in Chad by Modu Sheriff just few days after he was accused of being a boko haram sponsor. I am sure he could have found a picture that Sheriff did not feature in or at least crop him out before releasing into public domain. Even a toddler would have know that such a picture would be used against the president.

5. Just today, General Olukolade retracted a statement confirming the release of the Chibok girls, a few minutes after confirming their release to local and international media houses.

One of the hallmark of a great personage is being able to manage the people around him to properly project your ideals not theirs. But for GEJ that ingredient is lacking. No class. All manners of vegetables are packed into the soup being cooked in his kitchen where there are also all manners of cooks with poor culinary skills. End result is what we have now.
