Exactly. Thankfully, there are a few voices in Nigeria who are still respected for preaching the WORD. smiley

This will depend on whose God you are taking about.

If you are talking about an eurocentric God, then yes.

Nigerians are worshipping an eurocentric God, who is in the image of the Cauasians (big beard, blond hair and blue eyes). This is the image most nigerians have been led to believe is God, sitting in the sky with angel singing to him all day long.

We do not acknowledge the creative forces that are responsible for your creation as Nubians/ Nuwaubians/ africans these are our Gods (our ancient ancestors) who were in our own image and likeness.

Our link with our ancestors (Gods/creative forces) have been severed by the mental blockage created by the religious philosophies of the colonisers (white supremacy).

Nigerians are not aware that a spell of ignorance has been cast on them in the form of White magic (believing in a WHITE/PALE God worshipping) called christianity.

Nigerians just worship their pastors, like "daddy G.O, pastor chris etc, y'all make them dudes sound larger than life.
Another crazy thing i noticed, why does the pope prance around in $500 prada shoes and some of his congregation can't afford three square meals a day?

Not all Nigerians worship their Pastors. There is a difference between worshipping and learning from the person. If you spend your day at work, while a pastor spends his day studying the word, then surely, he must have a thing or two to teach you.

If the Pope heads a church that has given billions of Euros to help the poor, then why do you berate him for the price of his shoes? How do you know if he paid for the shoes or if they were made for him by Prada in appreciation of his contribution sto humanity.

A very big NO, we talk the talk and never walk the talk
Re: Are We Really Worshiping God In Nigeria? by Nobody: 3:25pm On Jul 28, 2009
Nope most Nigerians are definitely not worshipping God going by the bible standard or teachings, rather they a practising Idolatory taught to them by their so called men of God. And on the Islamic side their case is even worse as the religion itself is based on paganism mixed with some teachings from the torah and the bible to give it some crediblity. It is an open secret that Allah is the name of an ancient pagan god worshipped by the people of arabia long before mohammed was born.

It is equally an open secret that Yahweh/Jehovah is a pagan egyptian god worshipped by the hebrews long long before christianity came along.
The truth is that any "god" that deman worship is a false god.

That is absolutely NOT true there is no record of any ancient egyptian God called any thing similar to Yaweh/ Jehovah. But in reality i don't dispute that it is the same God the ancients in the ancient middle east were worshipping and people began to mis-represent God through changing cultures. For instance Abraham the progenitor of the Israelites was from UR in mesopotamia[ mordern day Iraq] common sense only dictates that God was being worshipped here as at the time of abraham which was at least 400 years before the children of Israel left egypt and the jewish religion was established. Evidently various cultures would have remoulded God in their own image. A glaring example today is Jesus who was renamed from Yeoshua to Jesus when christianity spread to greece whilst trying to convince the greek people that Yeoshua was the manifestation of their god Zeus who they were not ready to relinquish easily.

You see confusion? If africans have chosen to worship deities of african origin we wouldn't be in all this mesopotamian mess.
I don't believe in worshipping anything, jahweh or allah or whatever, but if one has to worship a deity, why not make it one that is homegrown? We nigerians too like tokunbos, even if dem be gods.

Our ancestors in Egipt

When the Greek established their civilization they just took the already existing deities from us in Egipt and changed the names just like they did in the bible stories. All of your Bibles and Koranic stories were copied from our ancestors in Egipt but they won't tell you this.
