Oh I see, christians can now pick and choose verses they are to take as symbolic or literal.

The summary or rather what I understand is that the OP does not believe in eternal punishment in hell. He beliefs that judgement awaits all people who died as unbelievers. A terrible judgement but it will not last forever. It will be a refining judgement.
