I haven't seen this game in a couple years now. The basic gist is that the story will start from the final line, and then each poster continues backwards from that point (hence "but before that...".

For example:

And they drove off into the sunset. But before that...

Mark and Mindy got into the car, satisfied that Jim would never follow them again. But before that...

Mark dropped the gun. Jim dropped to the ground, dead. But before that...
