MISS PERFECT!
Introducing Ada, the beauty queen of our class and probably the whole school at that time. She was classy, elegant and radiant; the dream of every male in the school, students and teachers alike. She was from a rich background, her parents were (and still are) top guns in the business circle; Rumors had it that she received a weekly sum of 80,000 naira for her pocket money barring other financial entries, be it modeling or acting. She was the "hit girl" of our school. She had her haters too, but they could only hate vainly. Guys would pine like kittens just to be with her, they would write well orchestrated love notes and drop it in her desk after school. And the teachers?...Oh.... They gave her free extra marks at will trying to win her favour. Some offered free extra lesson. The boldest of them all, Mr Obe, even invited her into his office at one time. No one knows what happened but, as usual, people started carrying the rumor that they "did it". It is safe to say that she was a big influence in our school, a bag of everything; pretty, classy and to some

WHO IS THE GUY?

Donald, or as he was popularly called "don", was a very popular guy in the school too. He was the 'go to guy' for issues like trade, deals and money. He is an orphan, his relatives who were supposed to cater for him abandoned him so he sponsored himself. Strangely, he wasn't a sadist. He was always willing to share his story, and he did so with a smile on his face each time. Teachers and Students respected him for his ability to juggle school and work. But I was the only one that knew the kind of business Don was into. He was sharp. He showed people only what he wanted them to see. Everyday after school, he would hook up with his guys to transport goods across the border. So many times he escaped death. So ultimately you could describe Don as an hustler, a practical guy. He was only concerned about getting money even if it meant cutting corners and breaking rules.

HOW DID THEY MEET?
Well....... One fateful evening, Ada's driver was late to pick her up, so she was alone in front of the school waiting. Some street thugs approached her and started making vulgar moves and passes. At first she feigned bravery and exchanged words with them but they overpowered her and were dragging her to a corner when Don arrived. He was very familiar with the street 'parole' so it was easy to convince them to free her. Don took her home in one of his smuggled cars and I think that was the day Ada was smitten. She fell for 'super hero' Don.
